NON-LUCRATIVE VISA
The main applicant will need to have a minimum
of €27.115,20 in a Spanish bank account, plus
€6.778,80 for every dependent within their
household to be able to apply for this kind of visa.
One must present the application in person to
Spanish consul in their country in a process that
normally takes three months to conclude. When
issued, it has to be collected in person too; it is
then valid for three months and 15 days, within
which time the applicant has to travel to Spain
to apply for the biometric TIE Card (foreigner’s ID
document).
Once obtained, non-lucrative visa enables you
to reside in Spain and move freely inside and out
of it, though it does not entitle you to work in the
country.
GOLDEN VISA
This is the popular name for what is officially
called the Residency Visa for Investors, and to
qualify one must:
• Purchase one or more properties in Spain for a
combined value of at least €500.000
• Or buy shares in Spain to the value of €1 million or
more
• Or invest €2 million or more in Spanish government
bonds
It is valid for one year and provides full residency
rights during that period, and can also be renewed
several times, ultimately leading to permanent
residency if successful. If you apply for it within
Spain, it is valid for two years at a time, so it is well
worth visiting the country and exploring the options
in person.
Whilst we all love the fabulous weather,
beautiful beaches, outdoorsy lifestyle
and the stunning scenery in Spain,

the more ‘tricky elements’ of living in Spain.

moved (or are considering a move) to Spain.
