“…If you can’t find a university or a person that can help

you, keep searching. In the end, of course, you’re going to

find someone.”

I had biology, chemistry, and English

A for my HLs, among other subjects.

Ms. Belgin and I attended lots of

competitions and their presentations.

That’s why I missed many classes. I

don’t remember that being a great

problem for me. Of course, your

teachers help you out a lot during

these times. In case of a missed

class, you can always go to their

office hours and they can help you

in a short period, teaching you the

basics. Additionally, you can also

study from your books. It’s a bit

about finding time for yourself and

studying. Moreover, you should not

let go of your sleep, at least 8 hours

is essential. In conclusion, if you do

something you like, you will find time

and effort to give it.

Should we focus only on the project

while conducting a scientific study?

No, I don’t think so. I have taken part

in the activities that I enjoy such as

theatre or other projects. It is better to

be interested in various fields. There

is the part for university application,

but you must do the things that

you really like. If you do something

reluctantly, you will get stuck at some

point. So, I believe you should have

various fields of interest which consist

of the activities that you enjoy.

What are the features that we should

have to be a good scientist?

While conducting a scientific study, it

is important to analyze the obtained

data accurately. You must understand

the difference between correlation

and causation very well, so don’t

just jump into your results. When

you acquire data, you may not have

certain scientific conclusions. In my

research, we cannot directly say that

the observations in worms will also

be the same in humans. Statistically,

in an experiment, there might be an

error all the time. Everything depends

on correlation and we cannot explain

something directly.
