UNIFORM REMINDERS
BLAZERS - please remember that blazers are essentially a garment to wear to
and from school or for special occasions. It is important that all girls bring their
jumper to school. We do not normally encourage girls to wear their blazers
during normal school hours.
CHAPLAIN’S CORNER
Master Chef is one of the many
reality cooking shows that
feature on television at the moment.
The participants produce a range of
amazing dishes using exotic seasonings
and spices. Amongst the seasonings is
the encouragement to use salt to bring
out the flavour and quality of the food
that is being prepared. The custom of
sprinkling salt on our meals has also
been a well tried and ancient custom
around our meal tables.
CONTACTING THE SCHOOL
Our taste buds suggest that the addition
of this salt can transform what is
before us. Salt can also be used as a
preservative to maintain the goodness
of many foods.
In the gospels Jesus uses the imagery
of salt: ‘You are the salt of the earth,
but if salt has lost its taste, how can its
saltiness be restored?’ In this picture
we are reminded that we are as salt to
the communities and the world in which
we live. As we move about our world
eating and drinking and sharing in the
lives of those who feed us through their
energy and love, may we continue to be
salt in their lives. May we bring out the
flavour and taste that is God’s grace and
preserve His love in our world.
Peace to you all.
