The Doorsteppa Halfway Litter Pickers A big thank you to everyone who has taken part in our Sunday morning litter picks over the last few weeks. We have seen an increase in people wanting to help every week since we started and we have managed to make a great improvement in a number of areas. The small wooded area and paths below Halfway Junior School are looking lovely. We have tackled the area around the school and also either side of the football pitch and the Streetfields area. Local children are getting involved which is wonderful and we hope this number increases over the weeks and months to come. 11 NOTICES Clowne Gala The Clowne Gala will not be taking place this year. The Clowne Gala which is an event held at Heritage High School every July has unfortunately had to announce that it will not be taking place this year. The organisers who put on stalls, activities for all ages, and live music every year have said that due to the pandemic it is too early to start planning a public event. However they are optimistic about the return of the Gala in 2022 so keep an eye out for further notices. We will put together regular updates in ‘The Doorsteppa’ so watch this space!! If you know of an area around Halfway that needs a ‘spring clean’ please get in touch and get involved if you have the time! SKIN A & E The doors to the Skin A+E clinic will be open for a second time, where a team of top UK dermatologists will give participants a FREE consultation, advice and medical treatment if appropriate.
