Hi Everyone<br />

Art & Minds sll has a home in the village but<br />

in the last 12 months we have moved from<br />

our previous base on Bridge Street to our new<br />

premises across the road at 46 Bridge Street,<br />

which was previously the Barber’s shop next<br />

to the Post Office.<br />

As before, we have transformed the old<br />

Barber’s shop into a creave and well-being<br />

studio which I hope everyone will come and<br />

see.<br />

We sll have the garage, workshop and<br />

community gardens to the rear of the new<br />

hub and they are sll going strong since we<br />

opened them over 3 years ago.<br />

As in previous years we are growing plants<br />

and these will be available to buy aer Easter<br />

when they are ready. So come along and see<br />

what we have to offer.<br />

Ruby Webb, who aends our project, has<br />

been producing lots of items showcasing her<br />

art skills and she donates them to the<br />

Barnardos and Ashgate charity shops in our<br />

village to help with their fundraising. Do<br />

come along and see her work and perhaps<br />

buy a piece of her artwork.<br />

Everyone is welcome to come along and say<br />

hello. Our project connues to help so many<br />

people with their mental health and<br />

loneliness.<br />

We are open to all ages and the friendship<br />

and support for each other is amazing.<br />

So come along and say hello – perhaps you<br />

could learn a new skill or cra. Or, of course,<br />

you can come along as a volunteer. You will<br />

be made very welcome.<br />

Nestled in the enchanting Norh Aican region, Morocco has long been revered as a gem that<br />

beckons to be discovered. With its rich tapest of vibrant cultres, breathtaking landscapes,<br />

and an aura of timeless char, Morocco stands as an exaordinar destination for any<br />

adventrous soul seeking a remarkable tavel exerience.<br />

ESSAOUIRA<br />

Essaouira, the “Bride of the Atlanc” is a beauful<br />

seaside resort set in one of the most wooded<br />

landscapes in Morocco. The ecosystem is<br />

composed of pine forests, dunes, lakes, and a wild<br />

coast that is being preserved with environmentally<br />

conscious tourism in mind. Its architecture<br />

includes houses with white and blue facades and<br />

crenelated walls. Visitors can walk quietly in the<br />

shade of its ramparts (made famous by the city of<br />

Astapor in the Game of Thrones series) or make<br />

the most of the city's notorious wind by trying<br />

their hand at water sports.<br />

From the working fishing port to the streets of the<br />

Medina, Essaouira is ranked one of Morocco’s<br />

most beauful cies by UNESCO. It is also home to<br />

the only vineyard estate in Morocco to have<br />

obtained organic cerficaon, Domaine Du Val<br />

D’Argan, which is nestled in the hollow of a valley<br />

amidst the shade of argan and olive trees.<br />

TAGHAZOUT<br />

Once simply a small fishing village near Agadir,<br />

Taghazout has, over recent years, become a tourist<br />

desnaon. This newfound interest is all down to<br />

Taghazout’s global reputaon as one of the world’s<br />

top surf spots.<br />

Anchor Point, Killer Point (named aer the pods of<br />

killer whales that can occasionally be seen in the<br />

vicinity rather than anything more sinister),<br />

Mysteries, and Hash Point - all names that are<br />

known throughout the surfing community as some<br />

of the top places in the world to catch waves<br />

beside seven-kilometre-long beaches. There are<br />

numerous surf schools to be found near the<br />

beach, catering from the beginner to the expert.<br />

Some offer basic introductory lessons while others<br />

provide everything from accommodaon and food<br />

to yoga classes, perfect for stretching out the sore<br />

muscles aer a day on (and off) the board. There<br />

is accommodaon for everyone, from old-school<br />

surf hostels to beachfront villas and luxury hotels,<br />

many of which have been built over the last<br />

10 years. Visitors can reach Taghazout via Agadir,<br />

it's just a few miles to the south of the city.<br />

OUARZAZATE<br />

Nestled at the foot of the majesc Atlas<br />

Mountains in Morocco lies the charming city of<br />

Ouarzazate, a true oasis in the heart of the desert.<br />

Known as the ‘Door of the Desert,’ Ouarzazate<br />

offers a wealth of stunning sights and experiences<br />

that are sure to enchant every traveller. From<br />

ancient ksars to stunning natural landscapes, and<br />

tradional handicras to Hollywood film studios,<br />

Ouarzazate has something for everyone.<br />

KSAR AIT BENHADDOU<br />

One of the must-visit places in Ouarzazate is Ksar<br />

Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<br />

natural landscapes. The Dades Gorge is known for<br />

its unique rock formaons, while the Todra Gorge<br />

This ancient, forfied village features tradional<br />

Moroccan architecture with buildings made from<br />

clay and stone - truly an architectural gem. Visitors<br />

can take a guided tour to learn about the history<br />

of the ksar and admire its intricate details.<br />

OASIS VALLEY, KASBAHS & KSARS<br />

Ouarzazate is surrounded by valleys of lush oasis,<br />

home to palm groves and tradional kasbahs<br />

(forfied houses). Visitors can take a tour of the<br />

valleys to experience the local way of life and see<br />

the stunning architecture. The Skoura Oasis is a<br />

popular desnaon, famous for its beauful<br />

kasbahs and palmeraie (palm groves), along the<br />

1000 kasbahs route.<br />

ROSE VALLEY & SAFFRON VALLEY<br />

These stunning valleys are a must-see when<br />

vising the region. The Rose Valley is home to<br />

Morocco’s rose capital, Kalaat M’Gouna, where<br />

visitors can witness the annual rose harvest and<br />

visit local dislleries to see how rose water and<br />

perfumes are made. In the Saffron Valley, visitors<br />

can see the harvest of saffron, one of the world’s<br />

most expensive spices.<br />

DADES & TODRA GORGES<br />

Nature lovers will enjoy vising the Dades and<br />

Todra Gorges, two of Morocco's most stunning<br />

CINEMA STUDIOS<br />

Ouarzazate is also known as the ‘Hollywood of<br />

Africa’ due to its many film studios. Visitors can<br />

check out the Atlas Studios to see where famous<br />

movies such as “Gladiator” and “Lawrence of<br />

Arabia” were filmed.<br />

SUSTAINABILITY AS A STANDARD<br />

For more than 20 years, the development of<br />

tourism in Morocco has been designed with<br />

sustainability in mind. In recent years, Marrakech<br />

has been equipped with a wastewater treatment<br />

plant that allows the watering of dozens of golf<br />

courses in the city in addion to the palm grove,<br />

as in Agadir.<br />

Morocco has introduced incenve labels such as<br />

the 'Moroccan Trophies of Responsible Tourism',<br />

launched by the Ministry of Tourism in 2008; the<br />

'green key' label for eco-friendly hotels; and the<br />

'blue flag' label awarded to 21 Moroccan beaches<br />

for their cleanliness, introduced in Morocco by the<br />

Mohammed VI Foundaon for the Environment.<br />

when the fesval returns for<br />

their tenth edion.<br />
