was received that the
criminal court has issued
a decision and directions
on our case against CWM
and associated firms.
The judge in charge of
the case has agreed that
there is evidence that
three serious crimes may
have been committed:
1. Fraud
2. Disloyal Administration
3. Forgery
The defendants will be
ordered to come to court
and be cross-examined
on the 24th, 25th and
28th February 2020.
Additionally, OMI,
SEB and Generali - as
well as InterAlliance,
Trafalgar and GlobalNet
will be asked to provide
corroborating evidence
relating to the victims'
portfolios and risk profiles.
This could, potentially,
widen the net to
include some or all of
the above as further de-

Bertomeu, and a
timetable of events leading
up to the court hearing
in February.
The “Weekender” and
ex-CWM customers involved
in the claim were
also sent a translated
version of the court proceedings.
This alleges
that between 2008 and
2017 CWM “scammed
close to 1,000 victims
out of close to £100 million
worth of pensions
and savings.”
These victims were divided
into three categories
based on losses (50
to 100%, significant loss
and trivial amounts) and
then further by pensions
transfers into QROPS
and non-pension funds
into insurance bonds.
The document then
listed the “serious problems”
with the financial
advice given.
These included lack of
authorization, no valid
financial service qualifications
from “so-called
financial advisers”, no
indemnity insurance,
falsification of dealing
instruction forms and
investments made to
maximize commission
for CWM rather than to
match client’s risk profiles.
