Leopardice Olimba a její dva potomci byli v hledáčku kamery
celkem tři roky. Filmařům se je podařilo zachytit v okamžicích
prosperity, tragédie i nejvyšší intimity, přičemž mnohé z těchto momentů
byly dosud úspěšně natočeny jen málokdy. Výsledný snímek
ukazuje náročnost a komplexitu existence tvorů, které řadíme mezi
vrcholové predátory zvířecí říše. Olimba musí skloubit péči a výchovu
s lovem a obranou teritoria, aby její mláďata měla vůbec šanci
dospět. Jejich příběhem provází herečka Noma Dumezweni.
This story of a female leopard provides a unique and detailed insight
into the fascinating world of big cats that are roaming the
magnificent landscapes of Zambia.
Over the course of three years, the film crew has captured the highs
and lows, the tragedy and even the most intimate moments in the
life of Olimba and her cubs. Some of these moments have rarely
been seen on camera before. The film shows the complex and harsh
life of one of the world’s top predators. Olimba has to juggle hunting,
taking care of her cubs and defending her territory in order to
secure at least a chance of adulthood for her young. Her story is
narrated by actress Noma Dumezweni.

The film by Cosima Dannoritzer ventures to the USA, Canada,
Europe, and Asia to observe the work of firefighters in cooperation
with a specialized global scientific community.
From hidden smoldering fires deep in the ground to clouds of smoke
reaching the stratosphere, scientists in labs experiment with combustion,
study the history of forest growth, and examine fire’s escalating
reach and impact on ecosystems. Why are these fires out of
human control and what makes them so violent? What responsibility
for this crisis is ours? And how to find a balance between
mitigation and resignation?
