All There Is<br />

All I ask is that you cling to me.<br />
Hold me in your palms;<br />
a mass of opened petals,<br />
warm like glass,<br />
that watches blushing skies in the summer.<br />
All that I am,<br />
seems not quite it<br />
but I think it has to do.<br />
I lie amongst a bed of daisies<br />
with the narcissism of a sunflower<br />
hoping that I, one day, may bloom too.<br />
But if it is so that I might not,<br />
and instead exist as just myself<br />
lying here, amongst the daisies,<br />
then I hope, at least<br />
I will be okay.<br />
And if this is all there is<br />
then I am grateful,<br />
that I should be so lucky<br />
to touch the sun.<br />
