BOOMER MAGAZINE I SECOND EDITION I SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY
On many occasions, artists have prophesied the path of their career, the course of their life and many other things surrounding them including life and death. A very specific one is Jean Michel Basquiat, the artist that we have chosen for the cover of the second edition of our magazine. From the kid living in a cardboard box on the streets of New York at 17, to a superstar millionaire artist at 21, to his tragic death at the age of 28 to a legend that inspires millions of artists, Jean Michel Basquiat has captured the imagination of the world. The purpose of this publication is to see how contemporary artists present themselves and their works to the viewers and to connect them with a wider audience.

I’m Kawthar Al Harthi, a visual artist on collage
I was born and raised in Israel, and at the
and mixed media, currently working as an
Art teacher. I graduated from Sultan Qaboos
University with a BA in Art Education.
Art is the ruling passion of my life; it’s a particularly
unique way of portraying the world and
recreating a new reality. In a way, it is a constant
attempt to find relationships between memories,
imagination, and physical reality.
Poetry inspired me the most; it is my primary
source of inspiration. Then comes papers like old
letters, old notebooks, diaries, sketches, library
cards, etc. I have always noticed something

moment I live in Germany (Halle Saale) with my
husband and 2 daughters. I’m a self-taught artist,
photographer and digital creator. I play with
materials, scan objects, and use my photography
skills to catch emotions, symbols and textures. In
the creation process I mix them all together to
create mix media digital art, characterized by
collage psychedelic style. There is a story behind
every work, based on my insights and personal
experiences. Some of them are dark, and the
others are full of self-humour and fun.
I enjoy exploring and learning new skills, and
