Free Summer School<br />

Hart School is<br />
proud to<br />
have been at<br />
the heart of <strong>Rugeley</strong><br />
for decades, <strong>and</strong><br />
now, to further<br />
support its<br />
community, it’s<br />
launch<strong>in</strong>g a free<br />
summer school.<br />
Based on a “We are<br />
<strong>Rugeley</strong>” theme, the<br />
Summer School, from<br />
<strong>August</strong> 2-6, will<br />
support the transition of Year 6 pupils <strong>and</strong> feature fun <strong>and</strong><br />
engag<strong>in</strong>g activities, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a Go Ape trip.<br />
Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Miss Rachael S<strong>and</strong>ham said: “Due to Covid<br />
restrictions, Year 6 children haven’t had as much time <strong>in</strong><br />
the classroom, or the chance to take part <strong>in</strong> many<br />
enrichment opportunities ord<strong>in</strong>arily offered by their<br />
primaries.<br />
“Our summer school is aimed at address<strong>in</strong>g these<br />
elements <strong>and</strong> empower<strong>in</strong>g pupils with the skills, confidence<br />
<strong>and</strong> knowledge to support a smooth transition <strong>in</strong>to Year 7.<br />
“We’ll also provide tips to help settle <strong>in</strong> smoothly so<br />
new pupils can hit the ground runn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> September <strong>2021</strong>,<br />
mak<strong>in</strong>g a fabulous start to their Hart School career.”<br />
