In accordance with state and local guidelines, the Crestwood Public Library will continue to practice safety guidelines while open to<br />
assist in the preventive measures of minimizing the spread of COVID-19. Face coverings are not required for fully vaccinated<br />
patrons, but are recommended for non-vaccinated patrons.<br />

Little Free Libraries for Books<br />
Need a book to read and cannot make it into the library? Our two Little Free Libraries, located at Walker Park and Playfield Park,<br />
are stocked with adult and children’s books — free to a good home. Feel free to take a book or two to read at home.<br />
You may also leave a book for others if you would like to. Please do not put library books in the Little Free Library.<br />

Hoopla is a groundbreaking digital media service offered by Crestwood Public Library that allows you to borrow movies, music,<br />
audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone — and even your TV! Titles can be streamed<br />
immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. We have hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from,<br />

Stampin' Up Card Class: In-Person!<br />
This month we're bringing back our in-person version of our popular Stampin' Up Card Class!<br />
Limited seating is available in order to safely accommodate our patrons.<br />

Ninety years ago, a plucky detective stepped out of her blue roadster and into the hearts of readers. The<br />
brainchild of publisher Edward Stratemeyer, Nancy Drew proved that a strong heroine with style and<br />
bravery could win a huge popularity. Join historian Leslie Goddard, Ph.D., to explore the history of<br />
America's favorite girl detective. Who was Carolyn Keene, author of the series? Why did this girls' book<br />
series, more than any other, captivate generations of readers? This program will be available virtually<br />

Virtual Adult Craft Club<br />
New at Crestwood Library: Check out our virtual adult craft club! Come share what craft you are working<br />
on at home with others via Zoom each month. If you don't have a current craft of your own, craft kits will<br />
be available at the Front Desk for pickup one week before program. For login information, call us at<br />

Tails & Tales Summer Reading<br />
Animal Supply Drive<br />
This summer as part of our Summer Reading program, Tales and Tails, Crestwood Library will be collecting<br />
pet food and supplies for local shelters in need. Donations of dry and wet food, treats for cats and dogs, toys<br />
and blankets, and cleaning supplies can be brought to the library during regular business hours.<br />
Our Pet Supply Drive will run from June 5th – <strong>July</strong> 31st, <strong>2021</strong>.<br />

<strong>July</strong> Events for Families and Youth<br />
Attention Veterans<br />
If you were honorably discharged from the U.S. military and believe<br />
you suffer from an injury or illness that you contracted because of your<br />
service, you are invited to attend a meeting of the Disabled American<br />
Veterans (DAV), Chapter 84 in Crestwood to get help in filling a claim for<br />
your injury or illness.<br />
There is no charge or fees for this service. The DAV is a national service<br />
organization comprised of veterans dedicated to helping other veterans<br />
receive the medical attention and compensation they deserve.<br />
DAV Chapter 84 meets on the First Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m.<br />
at the Elk's Lodge #1596 at 4428 Midlothian Turnpike in Crestwood,<br />
Illinois. National and Chapter Service Officers will be available to assist<br />
you in filing a claim for compensation and medical assistance. Bring a<br />
copy of your DD-214 to the meeting with you.<br />
Again, this service and all subsequent services provided by the DAV are<br />
free of charge. To learn more about the DAV and its mission to serve<br />
