GOVERNMENT THE MAYOR’S message RUNNING FOX PARK This month, I want to share some information about Running Fox Park. The park is located at 5290 South Quebec Street and spans the west side of Quebec Street from just north of East Prentice Avenue to just south of East Berry Avenue. The park was completed in 1993 and is a favorite among residents who frequently use the park for their morning and evening strolls, as well as people that work nearby and visit the park during lunch breaks. The Park features looped trails, a pond, benches, and picnic areas under two small gazebos. Although there is no designated parking, you may access the park via the Village’s trail system and from the Westlands Park parking lot. More recent park improvements include a pond renovation, water feature and bridge in 2018 and a small public art installation in 2020. I hope you will take the time to enjoy the park. George Lantz glantz@ greenwoodvillage.com 303-486-5741 VILLAGE TO HOST NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERTS IN AUGUST As part of the recent Cultural Arts survey conducted this past May, an overwhelming number of respondents indicated they would like to see concerts in the Village. The Arts and Humanities Council and the City Council value your input and are hosting four concerts in August. Funding for the concerts has been provided by the Scientific Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). We will be holding one concert in each of our four City Council districts. We want to make it convenient for you and your family to attend a concert in your neighborhood by simply walking or riding your bike to a concert. Every household will be receiving a mailer with information on the concerts. You can also get more information on page 7. The City Council and I look forward to seeing you and your family at a concert in your neighborhood. NEW RESIDENTIAL TRASH AND RECYCLING PROVIDER Waste Connections will take over providing trash and recycling service to Greenwood Village single-family residence beginning January 1, 2022. Near the end of 2021, Waste Connections will be providing every single-family residence with one 95-gallon trash container and one 95-gallon recycling container, free of charge. Residents may request one additional 95-gallon recycling container, free of charge, if one container is not enough. While residents are encouraged to use the containers provided by Waste Connections, you may still use any personal containers that you have previously purchased. Republic Services will collect all Republic-branded containers at the end of the year. As a reminder, the Village has an ordinance regulating the placement and storage of trash and/or recycling containers in Greenwood Village. Note that trash containers may be placed at the curb no more than one (1) day before a scheduled pickup and must be removed from the curb no later than midnight following a scheduled pickup. You can store these containers in your garage or enclosed structure; or behind a mature hedge, fence, or wall so long as they are reasonably screened from the view of those off the property. PINDUSTRY OPENS IN GV With the Village and our country opening after the pandemic, we have some exciting new businesses opening this year in our new Arapahoe Entertainment District (AED) located along the west Arapahoe Road Corridor.
