BARGEWORK Organisaon Student’s Compeon, Opole, Poland
The aim of the compeon was to design a 10 x 40m sustainable and
innovave office space that will include the possibility of floang on
water and will apply technological products from selected brands.
The structure was supposed to be located near the Pasieka Island - at
the riverside of Odra, Opole, Poland and in close neighbourhood of The
Naonal Centre of Polish Song, the Amphitheatre and Piastowska Tower
– three most significant places in the city.
The Pasieka Island is a place of the oldest selement in the city and
clusters the most beauful architectural and natural monuments.
The major concept of this project was to outline the consistency of the
architecture that we can find on The Island, which nowadays consists of
eclecve and contrasve architecture - from the most venerable to the
most recent – which coexist together in a visibly well relaons. We can
see this feature in the shape of the building which resembles the infinity
sign – the symbol of the past, the present and the future. It also makes
moving along the block more fluent and creates a great space for arranging
any kind of exposions.
The barge is also a nod to local flora of the Odra Nature Park, by making
the rooop area the public, city garden composed of the plants occurring
naturally on the riverside.
