BARGEWORK Organisaon Student’s Compeon, Opole, Poland
The aim of the compeon was to design a 10 x 40m sustainable and
innovave office space that will include the possibility of floang on
water and will apply technological products from selected brands.
The structure was supposed to be located near the Pasieka Island - at
the riverside of Odra, Opole, Poland and in close neighbourhood of The
Naonal Centre of Polish Song, the Amphitheatre and Piastowska Tower
– three most significant places in the city.
The Pasieka Island is a place of the oldest selement in the city and
clusters the most beauful architectural and natural monuments.
The major concept of this project was to outline the consistency of the
architecture that we can find on The Island, which nowadays consists of
eclecve and contrasve architecture - from the most venerable to the
most recent – which coexist together in a visibly well relaons. We can
see this feature in the shape of the building which resembles the infinity
sign – the symbol of the past, the present and the future. It also makes
moving along the block more fluent and creates a great space for arranging
any kind of exposions.
The barge is also a nod to local flora of the Odra Nature Park, by making
the rooop area the public, city garden composed of the plants occurring
naturally on the riverside.

Concept of the former synagogue adaptaon for Białystok City Council’s office
building, Białystok, Poland
The compeon organized by Białystok City, Poland, gave all architecture offices a
chance to realize their visions for the concept of rebuilding the former synagogue Bejt
Szmuel and adapng it for The City Council’s main office building. Responding to all
forces of both respect for cultural and religion heritage and current needs the project
was expected to be, in a manner of speaking, the dialog between the future and the
past. The project also needed to take under consideraon character zone planning
and conservaon guidelines, which were definitely a challenge and had the biggest
influence on the shape of the building.
The design of the building is highly based on recreang the synagogue’s facade based
on historical drawings and to create a striking difference between the front glass
elevaon, which was supposed to only be a background bringing the reflecons and
a subtle highlight to the monumental wall. The jewish star – shaped divisions will be
the finishing, addional detail to the whole structure. The other accent and a reminder
of former life this place had was locang the building’s ‘heart’, which occurs as the
main boardroom, in the old contour of the synagogue.
The result of all this efforts was not only another casual office block but, what’s more
essenal, an aempt to recall the history of the synagogue and to make a nod to the
past by keeping balance between the sacrum (religion) and profanum (city government)
sphere.

REFERENCES TO THE FORMER SYNAGOGUE
Two main elements applied to commemorate the history of the place were recreang
the historic facade and locang the main boardroom in the contour of the former
synagogue - as a ‘heart of the building’.

The Sensor Tech Office Building was designed for company specialized in heang,
venlaon and air condioning suppliers. Situated in Wrocław, Poland between two
parcels qualified as a residenal zone, the project presented several challenges
mostly due to character zone planning guidelines. The narrow, long property, the
limited height of the building and restricons about the length of the facades or the
shape of the rooop were the most notable. The building’s form takes its influence
from these limitaons while standing out at the same, being an example of elegant
and contemporary architecture. The front glass facade creates a sense of lightness
in the whole solidity of the building and the green details in window frames, easily
visible from the sidewalk and main road highlight the major color theme of the
Company.
The finishing elevaon materials, such as light grey plaster and fiber cement boards,
were applied as neutral and delicate, to avoid the feeling of overwhelming that could
affect the neighbourhood.
The office building features private office spaces, conference room and the director’s
office, stuff rooms, restrooms and ulity rooms. There are also plans of expansion by
adding the producon hall on the back of the parcel in the near future.

The project is situated in Spalona, a village that lines in vicinity of Legnica, Poland.
The site stands in a picturesque landscape, right by the lakeside. The concept was
to create a house that will be a combinaon of a contemporary, courageous architecture
and - due to character zone planning restricons - a typical dwelling with
some of the characterisc features of this region (for ex. a gable roof).
A key element in the design was to locate the largest windows of the building on the
facade oriented to the lake - to minimize the boundaries between indoors and
outdoors and open the house to a beauful view. The program of the building is
divided in an acve zone on the ground floor and a passive, private zone on the first
floor.
In an aempt to achieve a minimalisc, modern style the colour palee that has
been chosen is very simple – it contains whites and bright concrete, anthracite for
contrast and pine cladding for some finishing, warm touch.

The project for this building, a tenement house from the 19th century in Wrocław,
is a proposion of the restoraon, preservaon and expansion of it.
The form of the building is typical for the historical urban structure of the Wrocław
Market Place - a block based on an elongated rectangular plan (leer L in this case),
covered with a gable roof with a ridge oriented perpendicularly to the street.
Wroclaw suffered the most damage as a result of warfare during World War II. The
reconstrucon of such a badly damaged city was not an easy task and the eleva-
ons were finally restored in the 90’ but mostly in a different shape and style than
they were before. The aim of this project is to go back to their previous appearance
or, at least, to make them visibly similar.
The tenement house has 6 overground storeys, including an ac and one underground
floor. In order for the building to be economically viable, it is necessary to
locate a commercial space on floors -1 and 0. Due to character zone planning
guidelines the basement and ground floor will be dedicated for gastronomy industry
– restaurants and pubs and the higher levels will be designed as office spaces.

Located in Wołów, the city in south-west Poland, the office building is an expansion
of the exisng manufacturing plant that belongs to RF-MAH Company, specialized
in the design and manufacture of machines used primarily in food, pharmaceucal
and chemical industries.
The major focus in this project was on connecng it with already built, adjoining
office block by keeping the main visual features but sll not making an exact copy.
The place represents simplicity with delicate and elegant finishing materials. Bricks
and white plaster were chosen as a main material for integrang with the exisng
architecture. By the vercal division lines on facades the building maintains its own
character without depriving the urban context.
The program comprised basic funcons which included both private an open office
spaces, a meeng room, stuff rooms, a coffee room, restrooms and other ulity
rooms. To make the passage between two buildings more fluent they were brought
together by a glass corridor in the ground level.

The aim of this project was to design a residenal building located on Kurkowa
Street, Wrocław which will complement the exisng urban fabric, mostly
composed of tenement houses.
The program comprised basic residenal funcons on levels 1-7, commercial
spaces on a ground floor and the two-storey underground car park.
The project presents itself as a collecve ensemble with a clear, delicate, urban
form that expresses the idea of both the elegance and simplicity and emphasizes
the arsc style of the area.
The architecture of Kurkowa House fits into the atmosphere of the surrounding
historic tenement houses. The facade have been kept in light, tradional colors and
on the lower parts the space between windows was filled with quartz les arranged
in the form of bricks, which gives a historical character but sll lets the building to
be modern and recognizable.

Bachelor’s diploma project, Wrocław University of Science and Technology
The project’s objecve was to develop a concept of water tram with marina
area, which will also serve as a small cultural and entertainment centre.
Located in the city centre of Wrocław, Poland and being in close proximity of
recently built Dunikowski Boulevard the water tram will have a great chance in
becoming a very popular waterborne form of transport.
The main focus of the concept will be on communicaon along Odra River what
directly translates into the funconal arrangement of the building but at the
same me the project will also be enhanced with other addional features such
as a café, small movie theater room, exposions area and a viewpoint on the
highest floor.
The form of the structure was mainly indicated by the view axis that created
four arms of the building ‘reaching for’ the most perfect sight – at Dunikowski
Boulevard, Piasek Island, known by no less than three magnificent churches,
Ostrów Tumski - the oldest part of the city of Wrocław or majesc University
Library.
44
The structure of Dunikowski Boulevard naturally leads
people to the main entrance of the building what makes it
the closure of the promenade.
The river tram dock has to be either in a position to meet
the demands made of water transport or serve as a
public place of culture and recreation.
The idea for creating the shape of the building was to follow major view axis which end with representative and special building
or scenery. Four of them chosen were Dunikowski Boulevard, Piasek Island, Ostrów Tumski (the oldest part in the city of
Wrocław) and the Library of University of Wrocław.

Master’s diploma project, Wrocław University of Science and Technology
The Opole Flying Club, situated in the village Polska Nowa Wieś in the
south-west Poland, massively popular in the air sports’ lovers community for
many years, nowadays is nothing more than an abandoned and forgoen
place that has fallen into ruin. The main purpose of this project was to go the
extra mile to breathe life into it and bring back it’s the golden age again.
The leading funcon of the facility will be definitely conducng courses and
training sessions in different air sports’ divisions such as the glider division, the
airplane division, the parachute division, or the paragliding division and
providing the parcipants with the place to stay during the pracce.
The Centre offers a lot of acvies not only for the ones who take part in training
but also caters to a wide range of casual users - providing a restaurant and
café spaces for social and cultural events alongside skatepark and climbing
wall. However, among all these services stands out the main aracon – the
aerodynamic tunnel that will be the centrepiece of the whole complex.
Ones of the major characteriscs of this project are the easily visible relaonship
it establishes between contemporary, raw architecture and nature. The
structure of pathways and the whole complex are asymmetrical and surprising.
The inclined roof planes come right to the ground floor making the grassy,
green slope and allowing nature more or less to get the upper hand and aenuate
the massiveness of the buildings so, despite of their height, they won’t be
become overpowering.
50
The shape and the seng of the buildings create a wide
open entry zone which ‘invites’ the visitors or even ‘drags
them into’ the complex.
There is no real rigit passage scheme - all of the alleys
just give visitors suggesons about the way they can go.
The major idea in the design process was on giving
people freedom in choosing their pathways.

University project, Urban planning course Wrocław University of Science

Key elements of this urban design are definitely green network and open
space areas, that will give to the local community the feeling of freedom and
a possibility to arrange their own surroundings, keeping everything on a
human scale. The concept allows the creaon of a residenal area for all
generaons to achieve a diversity of age among the inhabitants.
Internal spaces between the blocks are designed as semi – public spaces and
within the green structure we can idenfy the central square, backyard
gardens and a playground for each unit.
The urban plan is created as sustainable with a wide range of different facili-
es such as kindergarden, cultural centre or elementary school and priorizes
above all pedestrian traffic.
The passage of greenery extending along two arficial basins located in the
middle area makes the whole estate infrastructure more resilient and equitable
in terms of health, livehood improvement and - what’s the most important
– raises human awareness of the importance of the natural environment
around us.

Alphamoon is a company focused on AI technology that offers
consulng and support in building individual data strategies.
A molecule is the smallest parcle of a substance that retains all
the properes. AI affects many job industries and is oen a key
element of their smooth funconing. Because of these similaries
the main intenon in the design process was to show the
complexity of work that the firm does every day. The molecular
silhouee represents both the focus on the smallest details and
also the importance of Alphamoon company on the IT labour
market.
The shape of logo isn't accidental - it creates the leers A and M
(from the company name AlphaMoon) and also leers A I (from
arfial intelligence).

Baran, Książek, Bigaj (BKB) is a law firm that specializes in Polish and
European labour and social security law.
Major features that a law firm should presents are high competencies,
equitability, reliability, truthfulness and honour. Following these
guidelines, the final logo design is a combinaon of inials of the
company partners placed on rotated square backgrounds.
The meaning behind this design is quite simple – square is overall
known as the symbol of perfecon but also the symbol of jusce,
anchoring, stability and persistence.

Forum of Technical Universies is supposed to be one of the most significant events
organized by Wrocław University of Science and Technology. That was also a reason
why the logo design needed to represent and be associated with Wrocław.
The final version of the logo is a reference to the most characterisc buildings which you
can find in the city: The Sky Tower skyscraper, Museum of the Bale of Racławice,
Centennial Hall and The Cathedral of St. John the Bapst .
Wrocław is also known for a lot of amazing bridges and called ‘The City on water’ and
that was the final element that completed the project.
64
ID CARD
“Let's be a family and we will build the future together” - this is the most important
slogan of Forum of Technical Universies. That was also the main idea in creang the
shape of parcipants’ ID cards - each of them is a different puzzle piece and all together
they make big jigsaw puzzle. That was also part of the integraon game - to find puzzle
pieces next to you and make new relaonships.

The aim of the project was to create a place for the students’ communies to present
their engineering achievements and to promote different research groups of polish
universies. At the same me the event gives an opportunity to connect students’
organizaons and companies and shows how important invesng in higher educaon is.
The idea of the logo was prey simple with a clear message focused on the science
aspect - that’s the reason why it came out in the shape of atom with electrons circulating
around it. It sll has two interpretaons though - a symbolic and a literal one. The
literal is easily visible – the science event and the science logo. The symbolic has a more
complex meaning – it illustrates the SSE project as a nucleus of the atom - the centre
part which holds everything together - and the electrons as the students’ communies
that take part in the event.
