vampires and witches mirrors the real world in
some ways, as we are living in a world where
racial, sexual and gender equality is still an
issue. I am glad to tackle issues like that
without it being too much on the nose.
One of the things I love the most about
your series is how it mixes fantasy
with real life. Even if one person views it
and says, “Maybe I’m not the only one
who feels this way,” it is all worth it.
Of all the characters, which one do you
feel you identify with the most, and
why?
I would say Zack and Reese are the two I
identify with the most. Reese, because we see
what she puts herself through for her best
friend, Bridget (I don’t want to spoil) and I’m
also a person who would do anything for their
friends. And Zack, because much like him, I also
believe that family is the most important thing
in the world. I was lucky enough to grow up in a
loving, absolutely amazing family and I would
not let any of them down ever. I am close with
my parents, my grandparents, my aunts and
uncles, cousins, and my sister too so family is
definitely a huge part of who I am.
Your characters are an extension of
who you are, and that is amazing.
Share with us one tool, one tip and one
trick that you cannot live without when
making your machinima.
The MC Command Center, it is such a helpful
tool, everything you could possibly need while
filming is in one place, and it is very easy to use.
I would say that the most important thing is to
work on projects that you truly like. Because if
you do something passionately, it will show on
the result and your viewers will notice if you
don’t enjoy making your own content.
That is such an important mindset! If
we are focused on making content for
numbers, that is where burnout
happens. But, when we are focused on
making content because we love to tell
stories in this unique way, we can enjoy
the process. People notice the
difference.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?
To be honest, I can’t really point out one certain
person who inspires me. Because whenever I
see someone’s excitement about releasing
their new machinima, or when I see machinima
directors being proud of their own work, I am
as inspired as ever.
This machinima community is filled with
inspiration, I would agree!
If you could meet any Simmer IRL, who
would that be and why?
Oh gosh, there are so many! But I think I have to
point out Tia aka Serendipitia. She has been one
of the biggest supporters of my and everyone
else’s work, while also doing her own project.
There is so much passion in her for the
community and machinimas in general that I
would love to get the chance to meet this
someone this amazing IRL one day. Another
simmer I’d like to meet is Plumbella. She is so
freaking funny without even trying, and not
afraid to be herself. But I know she suffers
from anxiety so she probably wouldn’t
appreciate if I randomly stopped her on the
street to get some coffee and I respect that.
“I would say that the most
important thing is to work on
projects that you truly like.
Because if you do something
passionately, it will show on
the result”
Tia is such a breath of fresh air and
such a great supporter of our
community. So, I would be remiss to not
give her a shout as well.
What do you appreciate the most
about being part of the larger Sims
Community? What do you wish was
different about the community?
Finding all these talented, super nice,
supportive friends, connecting with others
from across the world, learning new things
from each other. The way we lift each other up
when someone’s feeling down about their
work. The way we stand up for people who get
bullied online is also a really-really wholesome
thing. These things might apply more to the
Machinima Community than the entire Sims
Community.
I feel like the bigger someone is as a creator
