At first sight it appears as if most men don’t have any need of
special care. This is because the percentage of their collagen
and elastic fibres is a lot higher than that of women, so their
skin remains tight and wrinkle free for longer. So men really
just need soap and water after all? Far from it! Due to the
increased secretion of sweat and sebum their skin tends to get
more impurities and therefore needs special care.
Although the signs of time are less visible on men than women,
after 40 years their skin ages even faster. Specific care with
deep cleansing peelings does not just stimulate your senses
and circulation, but also the process of skin purification. Face

The miracle of the hay…
and other true tales of beauty and wellbeing
Life in the mountains of South Tyrol was austere. To make sure that the food
for the livestock lasted through the winter, the farmers gathered every blade
of grass from the Alpine meadows and steep slopes of the mountainsides and
brought it all into the mountain hut. After the arduous work, they spent the
night in the haystack. The hay makers soon noticed that they awoke the next
morning feeling particularly refreshed and that all their exhaustion had vanished.
The news of this spread. Very soon the first people from outside the region
came „to bathe in the hay“. Servants even had bathing leave written into their
contracts. For it was realised that the hay not only had a restorative effect, it
also seemed to have healing properties - for example in cases of rheumatism
or arthritis. Walking sticks, which guests had left behind after the cure, were
proudly displayed.
Today, South Tyrolean mountain meadow hay is as good as ever. For only hay
from untreated Alpine meadows high up the mountains with their wealth of
types of Alpine grasses and herbs (more than 40 species per 50 square metres)
may bear this name. The hay is harvested by hand, at enormous expense.
Relax for 20-30 minutes in warm, scented hay - the effect is impressive! Even if
we leave aside the healing effect on the body - the soul emerges refreshed from
the South Tyrolean hay bath.
This is due to the essential oils which reach the oldest part of our brain through
the nose. There, in the limbic system, feelings and memories are stored, to
which we have no access. Scents activate them, well-being and lightness of spirit
are radiated and we feel as light-hearted as a child in summer in the country.

You can reach the Park Spa easily from the main building by the elevator (-1)
and from the Villa through our garage.
Plunge into our sun lit INDOOR POOL which is connected with the OUTDOOR
POOL. Both pools are heated to approx. 28° C. Enjoy the beautiful view of the
mountains and smell the pure air.

| The care concept from our partners
Inspired by the know-how and philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine, the
company Piroche Cosmétiques was formed in Merano (Alto Adige/Italy) in
1981. By developing the bioenergetic method, Piroche Cosmétiques decided to
follow this track over 25 years ago and is considered the forerunner of Medical
Wellness.
The Piroche Cosmétiques brand is the property of the Pirone family. Research
and Development, Production and Sales departments are situated in the Merano
head office. Piroche Cosmétiques is a qualified reliable partner for specialist
institutes and Beauty Spas throughout the world.
With her avant-garde vision of preserving the youthful beauty and radiance
of the skin, Maria Galland was in step with the zeitgeist of the early sixties.
Together with a dermatologist, the successful dancer developed a treatment
concept as unique as the skin itself. And still today, over 50 years later, this
treatment concept sets the standard in beauty care.
The skin, “a mosaic of extremely diverse needs” In her Paris residence, the
Frenchwoman opened a “beauty advisory service”, in which she offered customised
“tailor-made beauty”. Treatment programmes that targeted the needs
of each individual area of the skin. These met with widespread approval and
soon Madame Galland founded her first research laboratories and production
facilities.

• Before using the sauna, the steam bath, the sanarium and the solarium, a
thorough shower of the entire body is compulsory and a matter of course.
• Please enter the sauna without your costume, preferably covered by a towel
or sarong and use the towel to sit or lie on.
• Try not to use the sauna with either a full or empty stomach. It is advisable
to eat a piece of fruit or to have a light snack a couple of hours before using
a sauna.
• If you suffer from cardiovascular problems or blood-circulatory problems
please seek your doctor’s advice before using the sauna.
• Don’t force yourself to stay. As soon as you feel unwell, leave the sauna
immediately. Your health is always the most important thing. A sauna bath
takes between 8 and 12 minutes, 15 minutes maximum. After that time you
should leave the sauna.
• Altogether, you should not take more than 3 sauna baths.

SPA Etiquette
• We suggest that you book your appointments before your arrival in order
to obtain your desired dates and times best suited for you.
• Please come to the appointment dressed in bathrobe and briefs/panties;
for the bath treatment we supply you with disposable underpants. You can
also request these for other treatments.
• If you have to cancel the appointment we ask you to inform us within 24
hours before otherwise a charge applies.
• We ask you kindly not to smoke and not to use your mobile phones in the
Spa, as a courtesy to others.
Pool-area
• Please do not enter the pool area with outdoor shoes.
• Bathrobes and towels are at your disposal during the stay.
• Sauna area: access permitted from 16 years of age.
• Fitness room: for instructions please ask at the reception.
• Please do not smoke and put your phone on silent in the whole area,
as a courtesy to the other guests.
