It is difficult for us to let go of our thoughts, but sometimes the more we want to suppress , the louder it becomes. Mindfulness teaches how to shift the focus to a single point of reference, such as one’s breath or bodily sensations, or a word or phrase known as a mantra. The practise has been shown to minimise distraction and rumination, make it easier to let go of negative unconscious thoughts, and encourage greater enjoyment of the present moment.

Introduction

Look past your thoughts, so you may drink the pure

nectar of This Moment. - Rumi

Mindfulness is This Moment

It is being present in the current moment, paying full

attention to it with an attitude that is non-judgmental,

curious, and kind. It is something all humans are born

with except for the fact that we frequently stray from the

topic at hand. Our minds take off, we lose contact with

our bodies, and we find ourselves absorbed in obsessive

thoughts about the past or worrying about the future. As a

result, we are concerned.

Let’s go forward how this ancient Buddhist practice is

more relevant for coaches and leaders.

From Mind-full to Mindful

What brings

you to

exploring

mindfulness?

It is the nature of our mind to

wander. As you begin to think,

your mind will begin to plan

for the future or recall events

from the past. Thus, awareness

is drawing attention to the way

the mind operates.

Awareness is

Absolute Reality.

Why Mindfulness-Meditation?

Buddhism situated consciousness in both the mind and the body.

It contends that mindfulness practices, namely mindfulnessmeditation,

can alter the learned patterns of interaction between

the body, mind, and environment. Within Buddhist spiritual paths,

other meditation practices have been developed as a means to

alter these conditioned patterns, such as concentrative/focused

attention meditation practices.

Only mindfulness-meditation practices are thought to be the only

means to fully acknowledge complex interactions among different

sources of sensory and mental experiences, as well as the selfreferential

and ultimately self transcending process of awareness.

Are You A Mindful Person?

Mindfulness is embedded in your aura. A mindful radiates calm and

clarity. Here are 4 things to remember in your day to day interactions.

Your

experiences do

not define you.

Do not fight

the situation;

it would not

make you calm

A mindful person

operates in this

aware space. Do

you follow the

four criterions?

Understand the

ever-changing

nature of life.

Do not kill for

perfection; exist

in the balance.

A Word To Coaches

Although the ways of

meditation varied from

place to place, it was

never dismissed as mere

hocus pocus by anyone. Its

effects are so strong that if

meditation is practiced long

enough, the inner architect

of the human brain is

changed.

With this donkey race of the

modern world, people need

coaches. They need to work, to

lead, to have peace at home.

Altogether it is their need to

get their life together. You can

serve a purpose to bring them

to a better state of mind.

Mindfulness has moved to popular psychology

and medicine, becoming a pivotal clinical technique;

it has been incorporated, among others, into

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive herapy

It can also help individuals identify and embrace

negative emotions. When the meditator has social

support, such as in a formal group setting or with the

aid of a friend or family member, it can be especially

effective. Especially in a coaching environment.

If you are a mindfulness coach, you are already a

certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

trainer. At Coaching the Brain, you get to polish your

niche as a trained mindfulness coach.

Be A Mindful Leader

There has been scant robust

research on the actual impact

of mindfulness training on

organisational leaders, leaving

us with little understanding

of whether, why, and how

mindfulness practices might

affect leadership effectiveness.

Does eight weeks of

mindfulness training and

practise have an effect on

leaders’ capacity for resilience,

collaboration, and complexity

leadership? If it does, how

exactly does it work? What

are leaders’ perspectives on

mindfulness practise?

Mindfulness has been shown to

assist leaders in managing their

stress, which in turn reduces

employee stress, fosters a more

positive work environment, and

improves the bottom line.

When leaders actively engage

in mindfulness practices, the

“psychological capital” of an

organization rises.

Harvard Business Review

research identified 3 specific

areas of mastery that allow

leaders to be more present.

Metacognition- The ability to

take a step back to observe at

a distance what is happening

around you.

Allowing- Being open to what is

happening without judgment or

yourself or anyone else.

Curiosity- The Impetus behind

bringing awareness into the

present moment.

As is the case with most things

in a company or organization,

this initiative begins at the top.

Leaders must keep in mind

that they are constantly being

observed.

What does your emotional presence say about you and your company to

your employees?

Pause and Ask.

Healing with

Mindfulness-Meditation

Mindfulness coaching is for healing

not for fixing.

Whether you are a coach or a coachee;

always remember you are getting healed,

not fixed.

The trick is to accept the emotion not to become the emotion. It

is quick and easy to learn meditation methods. One of the many

advantages of becoming aware is the freedom to step out of what

is considered an emotional cage. At times of stress, concern, fear,

and highly heavy emotions, we are literally taken away by a part of

our brain that takes the driving seat.

Mindfulness can help you improve your well-being both as a

personal and professional practice. It allows you to create a positive

change not only for your own personal life and well-being but also

that of those you train. Mindfulness help you in-

Increasing attention

and focus

Lowering anxiety

levels

Increased immune

function

Lowering heart

rate

Attain the feeling of

being connected yet

detached

Conclusion

Once you understand what’s at stake, you’ll want to

exercise extreme caution in your actions and words. One

begins to sense the freedom and lightness associated

with that harmony with nature, as opposed to the

heaviness associated with nature exploitation for personal

gain. Meditation is an investigative process.

This is not a predetermined route. Your mind is not

vacuumed clean of thought, leaving you completely

uninhibited. It’s a unique location where every moment is

significant.

Mindfulness meditation invites us to suspend judgement

and embrace our natural curiosity about the workings

of the mind, with an attitude of warmth and kindness

toward ourselves and others.

In conclusion, Mindfulness is an affirmation card to feel

good and happy in a world full of anxiety, stress, and

sorrow.

BE HAPPY, BE PRESENT, DO NOT DWELL IN THE PAST,

AND LIVE IN THIS MOMENT.
