18Tell me a little bit about yourself?Hello! My name is Pierick, I’m 26 and Icome from France. I’m a huge fan of theSims since I was 10yo. Building houses ismy favourite part of the game and thanksto that I discovered the architectureworld and wanted to become an architectuntil 18 yo, it’s then I discovered CGI whiletrying to reproduce buildings. I learned alot on YouTube during high school and myfirst year at university. I’ve always beenvery attracted by the cinema, andbecoming a cgi artist instead of anarchitect was the best thing for me!I was not a huge fan of CC at first, because Ilike to play with matching items. Then Idiscovered a bunch of maxis match items andinstalled them. After like a year of playingwith them, and after practising CGI forseveral years, I decided during the first lockdown(in France) to try making my first item. Idiscovered a brand new world opening undermy feet. And that’s really satisfying to beable to add items you want into yourfavourite game! Also, I needed a student jobto pay my tuition fees, and making cc was agood way to manage the time at school andtime working on CC.what is it like to be a CGI studentBeing a CGI student is a very niceexperience. I met a lot of awesomepeople while learning and practising mypassion. I have spent the best years of myeducation here. I had the chance to be ina school where it was a very closerelationship between the student andteachers too. I’ve also just finished mystudies and the end was very intense. Wehad a short movie to produce in two year.We were 5 to make our short movie and ithelped us learn a lot of things about CGIbut also about ourselves, how we canmanage our stress or how to be able togive the best of ourselves in a shortamount of time. The last month was themost intense as we almost slept at schoolor didn’t sleep at all but that was one ofmy best memories because it was sharedwith friends.How did you get into making CC for theSims?When did you start playing The Sims?I starting playing the Sims at a friend’s place,when I was 10. He used to play this game fora few months so he explained to me how itworks etc and I really liked the amount ofpossibility we had in the game, and theability to build houses as we wanted.Unfortunately I wasn’t able to play a lotbecause I didn’t visit him often. Then I hadthe Sims 2. Our computer was very laggy andcrashed often, but I finally could really playwith it! Sometimes with my mom who joinedme and we used to create a bunch of funnypeople and make ridiculous stories with them.Where do you get inspiration for youramazing builds?Inspiration comes from a lot of things! I havea big folder full of references for my CGproject that I also use for CC now, but I alsotook a lot of pictures of the places I visit. Ialso try to read often decoration/interiordesign magazines, and I spend hours onPinterest too. There’s almost everything on
19created?I don’t really know, I’mstill learning aboutmaking CC so there isall a progression and it’shard to have anobjective point of view,but I think I like TidyingUp because it was myfirst one, but in terms ofitems I think it’s morethe Calderone bedroomor the Coldbrew part 2.this website!Do you prefer building or decorating?I think I prefer decorating. I have a lot ofideas for building but it never comes as Ithought it would be and I can I give upeasily for this part, sometimes too easily1What inspired you todo the COLD BREW coffee shop cc?One of my best friends and I used to go tocoffee shops to talk or plan projects, talkabout our lives, etc and those are places Ireally love. I made one for a school project,and I wanted to do one for the Sims. Also, itwas a good opportunity to add items I lovesuch as small teacups, teapots, etc.The first-ever stuff kit you made wasTidy up, what inspired you to make thatthe first kit you released?I don’t really know about this one. I knowthat I like cleaning my home, and myfriends call me Monica sometimes(because of Monica Geller from Friends)but I think it’s more because it’s full of «real life » clutter items that we don’thave in-game and that I missed.What is your favourite CC kit youwith the Sims4 Studio,Maya, Blender,andPhotoshop.Whatprogramsdo you useto makeyour CC?I’m working
