A large crowd gathers around the town Christmas tree on the square in Corydon, Indiana, for a festive celebration in the late 1940s. According to library records, one of the first community Christmas programs on the Corydon square occurred in 1923 when the local American Legion post and area churches provided a large Christmas tree on the square and invited the public to come for a gathering on Christmas Eve.
