The BC Association of Farmers’ Markets honours the memory<br />

of Mary Forstbauer by offering a $500 grant every year. In<br />

addition to being a long-time farmer, Mary was also instrumental<br />

in building the local food movement and farmers’<br />

market community in BC, including her role as a founding<br />

member and president of BC Farmers’ Markets.<br />

The grant aims to support a farmer selling at BC farmers’<br />

markets to implement a new initiative on their farm. It can<br />

be used towards supplies, training, new equipment, services,<br />

contractors, staff or consultants.<br />
