Nathan Taylor TV NEWS Alan Jones and his primetime program on SKY News has been axed. Following eight years with the news channel Jones’ program, simply titled ‘Alan Jones’, was officially given the heave-ho last week. As for what Jones does next, that’s anyone’s guess. Perhaps retirement might finally be in order? Some new and exciting shows are coming to Channel Nine’s multichannels – 9GO!, 9GEM and 9RUSH. Music game show ‘I Can See Your Voice US’, ‘Travel Guides New Zealand’, ‘The Weakest Link US’ and Tim Allen reality contest ‘Assembly Required’ are on their way to 9GO!, while ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire UK’, ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’ and ‘The Great Pottery Showdown’ will air on 9GEM. Meanwhile, ‘Aussie Snake Wranglers’ and ‘Undercover Billionaire’ will screen on 9RUSH. After disrupted plans in 2020, ‘Carols in the Domain’ will return to Sydney’s iconic Domain next month. ‘Sunrise’ hosts Natalie Barr and David Koch will host the 39th event, to be held on Saturday, December 18. Performers set to COMING SOON ASSEMBLY REQUIRED, 9GO! DECEMBER 15 FOODTASTIC, DISNEY+ hit the ‘Carols’ stage include Samantha Jade, Penny McNamee, Mark Vincent and Paulini. Last year’s show was staged inside the ICC in Sydney sans audience. Interestingly, this year’s event will screen on Seven several days after it is held, at 7.30pm on Thursday, December 23. Channel Seven has secured the rights to ‘Adele: One Night Only’. Filmed at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, the two-hour concert features Adele’s first new material in six years, in addition to her monster hits and several neverbefore-heard songs. It will also include a chat with Oprah Winfrey, discussing the new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son. It will air this month. Filming is now underway on new Disney+ movie ‘Hocus Pocus 2’. The sequel to the 1993 Disney classic will star original Sanderson sisters Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy. The film is set for release next Halloween. If you enjoyed ‘Back to the Rafters’ on Amazon Prime Video recently, I have some bad news for you… it’s been axed. It’s been confirmed that Amazon is not moving forward with further episodes of the series despite fairly positive reviews for the revival. Disney+ series ‘Foodtastic’ will premiere on Wednesday, December 15. The series sees skilled artists create largerthan-life sculptures (think ‘Star Wars’, ‘Avengers’ and ‘The Lion King’) made entirely out of food: from vegetables and butter to fruit and cheese! parra news » Tuesday, November 16, 2021 OPEN 7 DAYS Monday to Saturday: 10am – 4am Sunday: 10am – Midnight NOMINATIONS OPEN Exciting New hotel in Rosehill NOW OPEN Call 8856 0111 to book our cabanas.
