Founded in 1998, but with origins dating
back to 1935, Bísaro – Salsicharia Tradicional
is a food production company specialising
in prosciuttos, sausages and other products
of animal origin derived from the Bísaro
pig. Located in Gimonde, Bragança, in the
Montesinho Natural Park, it has a close
relationship with this magnificent region.
Bísaro - Salsicharia Tradicional has a Quality
Management system certified since 2005
according to the following standards: NP EN
ISO 9001:2015 and IFS-Food.
One of our main goals is promoting Bísaro
prosciuttos, sausages and meats as well as
traditional Trás-os-Montes smoked meats,
giving them the seal of quality guaranteed
by local ingredients.

MARRON Oficina da Castanha is the first
location in the country specialising in
chestnuts and their derivatives. The centre
opened its doors on 8 March 2019, at Rua
Combatentes da Grande Guerra, in the heart
of historic Bragança, including a grocery
shop offering a wide range of chestnut-based
products.
It also organises visits to a small museum
on the lower floor where it is possible to
learn more about how chestnuts are grown
and processed, either through various
information panels or via interactive contents
displayed on a touchscreen. A visit to this
interpretive centre also allows you to discover
an unprecedented collection of chestnut
roasters and includes a tasting of chestnut
liqueurs and sweets.
In addition to the grocery shop and museum,
Marron also provides a 30-seat cafeteriabar
where you can enjoy various sweet and
savoury dishes made with chestnuts.
This venue was conceived in Terra Fria
Transmontana, the largest chestnutproducing
region in Portugal and one of the
most important in Europe, with the aim of
promoting a variety of chestnut consumption
throughout the year.

The D. Roberto Traditional Restaurant has
been in Gimonde since 1935. The cured
sausages and smoked meats from the
Trás-os-Montes region are featured in the
menus at this restaurant run by the D.
Roberto family.
In a traditional Trás-os-Montes house, the
decorative theme is hunting, smoked
sausages and ancient local artefacts. Over
time, it has been successively renovated and
modified. Today, its layout makes it a regional
benchmark and one of the few certified
traditional restaurants.
The D. Roberto restaurant has a menu
featuring a wide variety of delicacies typical
of Trás-os-Montes. Some of our dishes have
already won several national awards.
