INTERIOR DESIGN SCENE
It is not uncommon for empty properties to sit on the
market for months, with homebuyers overlooking
beautiful homes. Without furniture to suggest the
purpose or dimensions of a room, it can be difficult
to visualise living in that space. Often, a remarketed
property, furnished and styled by Fine & Country Property
Staging, sells within a matter of weeks, demonstrating the
value of presenting a property in its best light.
When transforming a five-bedroom detached house
in Rickmansworth, Fine & Country Property Staging
had one key objective: take an empty house and create
an aspirational lifestyle to capture the imagination of
potential buyers.
The largest room in the house underwent the biggest
transformation. The generously proportioned open-plan
living space became a spacious family room, featuring a
music area, sitting area, TV area and a table tennis table,
so people could see the value of such an immense space,
rather than walking into it and thinking, “What are we
going to do with this?”
Taking a total of two days, the Staging team first delivered
the furniture, putting sofas, beds, tables and various other
items out in each room with a general placing. On day
two, the Dressing team arrived to hang pictures and
mirrors, make the beds, and dress the rooms with home
accessories that added the final touches, completing
the home.
Darren Hopcroft, Associate of Fine & Country
Rickmansworth & Chorleywood said, “When I walked
into Keepers Lea, I could see straight away that potential
buyers were getting lost trying to visualise what they
could do with the space on offer, as the property was
empty. Once the staging was complete, the vendor was
amazed at the transformation.”
Fine & Country Property Staging suggests the top three
times when it’s worth considering staging your property
to sell:
1. The property is empty or has some empty rooms
Potential buyers often lack the vision to imagine how
their furniture will fit in a potential new home. Home
staging maximises the impact of each space, highlighting
key features and demonstrating the lifestyle the
property offers.
2. The décor is outdated
Many buyers are looking for a turnkey home and are
willing to pay more for this. The last thing they want
is a house with a long list of jobs that need immediate
attention.
3. You have a lot of clutter
A staging team will help you tackle clutter and make
recommendations on what pieces can be used for
staging and what pieces should be packed away ready for
your move. n
