What do I need in order to study RSL Music Practitioners?You will need to: Enjoy playing an instrument or singing Be prepared to perform in front of an audience Be able to work independently with other students on a musical project.You might already take part in instrumental /vocal / Music Technology Lessons at The Bridge Academy or outside school.What are the coursework requirements?Externally Assessed Performance - 40%Internally assessed Optional units - 60%Analysing, writing about and keeping a logbook ontopics such as: Practice routines. Rehearsal schedules. Listening skills. Technical development. Reflecting on your development as amusician.What about examinations?A videoed performance forms your externally assessed part of the course.There are no written examinations.How much homework will I have to do?Playing your instrument or singing regularly will help you achieve not only ahigh grade but also better mastery of your instrument. Subject: GCSE DramaOptionWhy study this subject?The GCSE Drama course is a brilliant way to develop your passion for theatreand drama in both a practical and theoretical way. This course gives studentsa fantastic opportunity to perform, study andwrite about a range of different styles of theatreand plays. During this course you explore a rangeof different theatre practitioners and study arange of voice and movement work. This courseteaches you how to analyse and evaluate dramaat a high level and you will be expected to writeabout your own practical performances and arange of live theatre you will see during the two years. The course offersstudents a chance to not only participate in exciting practical performances ofscripts and devised theatre but also to write about acting and theatrical stylesat a high level. This course is ideal for those students wanting to get abroadrange of drama skills in both acting and writing.What qualifications will I get at the end of the course?You will gain a GCSE in Drama.What can this qualification lead to afterwards?Having a qualification in Drama, theatre and performing arts develops manykey skills that are crucial for a range of other educational and career optionssuch as; leadership, directing, writing, team work, acting and confidence. Thiscourse allows students to study further vocational options in Drama such as ALevel Drama, Level 3 Tech Award Performing arts, RSL Acting Courses, LAMDAqualifications, drama school courses and a range of degrees in Theatre andActing (BA). The skills you will gain by studying performing arts are wellrespectedby colleges and universities and highly sought after in a wide rangeof jobs.What topics will I study on this course?Component 1: Devising theatreStudents will create their own piece of drama in small groups from a stimulusgiven by the examination board.
