CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS 2022
The Village’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies planned public infrastructure projects. This list shows the planned
projects for 2022. For updated information and status on these projects, please visit the Capital Projects page on the Village

BUILDING PROJECTS
City Hall Phase II
(District 2)
Project Description: As a smaller
Phase II of the City Hall Interior
Remodel project, complete a few
remaining items that are within the
public spaces in City Hall.
Specifically, improvements to the
Council Chambers (including
structural repairs), Community
Room, North Conference Room,
Main Floor Public Restrooms, and
Wellness/Lactation Room.
STREETS AND
TRANSPORTATION
Belleview Avenue and Quebec Street
Intersection Improvements
(District 2)
Project Description: Extend the
existing eastbound right turn lane at
the intersection to prevent the right
turn lane from being blocked by
vehicles queued in the through lane
during peak periods. This project will
be coordinated with the ultimate I-25
and Belleview interchange
improvements to minimize throw
away construction.
Belleview Avenue and Fairfax Lane
Northbound to Westbound
Acceleration Lane (District 1)
Project Description: The residents in
the Bateleur and Preserve with access
from Belleview have requested an
acceleration lane from northbound
Fairfax Lane to westbound Belleview
Avenue. Staff has met with CDOT
and will develop design options for
review by CDOT and engage with
the community to see which option is
best supported.
Arapahoe Road and Syracuse Way
Traffic Signal Re-Build
(District 2)
Project Description: In 2020, the
annual traffic signal structural
inspections identified the need to
replace the traffic signal poles at this
intersection due to corrosion at the
base of the pole. These poles were
taken over by the City when the City
annexed this area from Arapahoe
County. The new poles will be
constructed to allow for the
placement of wireless infrastructure in
the future to minimize new vertical
poles in the right-of-way.

Plaza Boulevard Traffic Signal
Re-Build (District 2)
Project Description: In 2020, the
annual traffic signal structural
inspections identified the need to
replace the traffic signal poles at this
intersection due to corrosion at the
base of the pole. These poles were
taken over by the City when the City
annexed this area from Arapahoe
County. The new poles will be
constructed to allow for the
placement of wireless infrastructure in
the future to minimize new vertical
poles in the right-of-way.
Greenwood Plaza Boulevard and
Caley Avenue Median Modifications
(District 2)
Project Description: As part of the
Westray-Peakview Place access
permits, the property is limited to
right-in/right-out movements only.
This project will modify the existing
raised medians along Caley Avenue
and Greenwood Plaza Boulevard to
provide the access approved in the
access permit.
Orchard Road and
DTC Boulevard/ Yosemite Street
Eastbound and Southbound
Left Turn Lane Extensions
(Districts 2 & 3)
Project Description: Extend the
existing eastbound and southbound
left turn lanes at the intersection to
prevent them from spilling back into
the through travel lanes during peak
periods. This project was identified
through discussions with the
community over the course of the
past two years.
Belleview Avenue and Ulster Street
Traffic Signal Safety Upgrades
Extensions
(District 2)
Project Description: In 2020, as part
of the annual traffic safety review
completed by staff, a crash problem
was identified at Belleview Avenue
and Ulster Street. Northbound and
Southbound left turning vehicles
experience a high crash rate. Staff
applied for, and received, a grant
from CDOT to install new traffic
signal heads to operate the signal as
protected only during peak periods.
