Easter Family Day<br />

Don’t miss the Easter Family Day being held at Haydock<br />

Park Racecourse on Saturday, <strong>Apr</strong>il 16. Kids can enjoy<br />

bouncy castles, a helter skelter, an inflatable carnival,<br />

rodeo bull, face painters, a balloon modeller and more.<br />

Oh, and there’s some horse racing going on too.<br />

The day runs from 11am-4pm and you can secure your<br />

tickets at www.thejockeyclub.co.uk<br />

<strong>St</strong>age & Screen<br />

Rainford Band will be performing music from stage and<br />

screen at a concert being performed at Rainford Village<br />

Hall on Saturday, <strong>Mar</strong>ch 26. The concert is being held<br />

in aid of the Rainford Parish Council’s Chairman’s Fund,<br />

which is, this year, to benefit the Rainford Heritage<br />

Society.<br />

Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 8pm.<br />

Tickets are £15 and you can buy yours by calling the<br />

Billinge Picnic<br />

Billinge Residents Association have secured a National<br />

Lottery grant of £1,250 to help throw a Picnic in the Park<br />

event on the Queen’s Jubilee weekend in June. Billinge<br />

Parish Council have also provided funding for the event.<br />

You’re invited to bring along your own food and drink to<br />

Bankes Park for the event which will run between 1pm-<br />

6pm on Sunday, June 5. The <strong>St</strong> <strong>Helens</strong> Concert Band<br />

will be providing muscial entertainment, and there will<br />

also be a childrens’ disco, craft stalls, a small funfair for<br />

children and various other attractions.<br />

Organ Recital<br />

The Ormskirk <strong>St</strong>reet United Reform Church will be awash<br />

with the sounds of music on Wednesday, Apil 6 when<br />

organist Peter Kwater delivers his Lenten organ recital.<br />

Tickets cost £10 per person, and this includes entry to the<br />

recital and a meal. The meal will be served at 12pm and<br />

the recital begins at 1.30pm. Tickets can be purchased<br />

from the Church office (WA10 2JZ ) between 9am-<br />
