Description<br />

The measuring systems of the LaseAFM line measure the dimension and volume of the freight.<br />

In addition, the weight, identity and condition of the freight can be recorded. LASE offers<br />

different types of measuring systems. The individual products are based on 2D and 3D laser<br />

scanners. With the LaseAFM-2, LaseAFM-4 and LaseAFM-flex the freight is placed in the<br />

measuring system and is measured with 3D laser scanners. The sensors can be installed in a<br />

measuring frame or suspended from the hall ceiling. With the LaseAFM wrapper, the threedimensional<br />

measurement is carried out using a 2D laser scanner and the wrapper’s angle of<br />

rotation data. The sensors are mounted on stands or attached to the hall structure. The whole<br />

process of measurement is done in a few seconds. As a result, the size of the minimum enclosing<br />

volume (cuboid) is determined (length x width x height and the volume). The measurement<br />

result is sent to the merchandise management system after the measuring process.<br />

The use of automatic measurement of the freight offers many advantages. The automatic<br />

measurement saves time compared to a manual measuring process, which usually uses a folding<br />

ruler. Not only the measuring process is relevant, but also the time needed to enter the measured<br />

data into the merchandise management system. The reproducibility is given. Customer complaints<br />

are prevented, which in turn can cost time. All of this, combined with the optional modules<br />

weight, identification and condition monitoring, makes comprehensive freight recording perfect.<br />

Which variant is the right one for ME?<br />

ceiling or mounted in a measuring frame.<br />

The LaseAFM-2 and LaseAFM-4 use 3D laser scanners placed around the freight to be<br />

measured. The measuring systems differ in the number of laser scanners being used. With<br />

the LaseAFM-4 the four laser scanners are positioned in the corners of a square. The freight<br />

is located in the centre. With the LaseAFM-2 only two laser scanners are used which are<br />

positioned in the diagonal corners of the square.<br />

If the freight is placed with its sides parallel to the square, and thus three sides of<br />

each of the two diagonally positioned laser scanners can be seen, the LaseAFM-2<br />

can be used. If the freight is placed in such a way that a single laser scanner can only<br />

see two sides, the LaseAFM-4 should be used. If the freight is larger than 2 x 2 x 2<br />

m, LaseAFM-flex can be used. The two measuring systems are available as a floorstanding<br />

version and as a version suspended from the ceiling. The standing versions<br />

are also available with castors so that they can be easily moved. The measurement<br />

results are displayed via an operating terminal. The measuring process can be<br />

initiated via it. In addition, we also offer the modules weight (scales), identification<br />

(barcode scanner) and status control (cameras).<br />

The weight module consists of a scale which is placed in the middle of the measuring<br />

system. The weight is measured during the measuring process. The module<br />

Identification consists of a barcode laser scanner incl. loading tray. With this the<br />

freight can be identified and the measuring process can be triggered. The condition<br />

monitoring module consists of two or four cameras positioned around the freight in<br />

the corners of the square. During the measuring process, photos of the freight are<br />

taken and the images are stored for condition documentation.

The LaseAFM Tower is a stand-alone all-in-one solution for automated measurement<br />

of pallets on a wrapping machine. The measuring system has a 2D laser scanner<br />

for capturing the measurement data, a high-resolution camera for image<br />

documentation and an industrial PC with the specialized LaseAFM software.<br />

By combining the 2D laser scanner measurement data with the rotation angle, a 3D profile<br />

of the freight item is generated. The dimensions (length x width x height) and the freight<br />

volume are calculated from this. The entire measurement process takes place within a<br />

few seconds. The results are then sent to the individual inventory management system.<br />

LaseAFM-Tower is ideally suited for new construction projects and retrofit solutions and only<br />

requires a voltage and network supply.<br />

LaseAFM-flex offers individual solutions<br />

The LaseAFM-flex is a product which is used for the measurement of large freight, but also for<br />

the measurement of large objects (vehicle, bulk goods). Any number of 3D laser scanners and any<br />

position of the sensors can be chosen according to the requirements of the measurement. The<br />

object to be measured (freight) is placed in the centre of the measuring system and the 3D laser<br />

scanners create a 3D point cloud of the object to be measured. The smallest enclosing cuboid is<br />

the measurement result with the width x length x height and the volume of the freight (object).<br />

If the measurement is in indoor rooms, the sensors can be suspended from the ceiling or placed<br />

on a stand. Outdoors the sensors would then be installed on stands. For the LaseAFM-flex the<br />

company LASE prepares individual specifications, which are agreed with you in detail.<br />
