Pop singer Taiy now the “third person”
Ounkham Pimmata
When we last heard
from him, pop
singer Taiy was a
broken man. His girlfriend
had taken off with another
lover. We learnt of his pain in
“Jao bor men akard” (You Are
Not the Air) earlier this year.
Now, Taiy has taken
revenge by unconventional
means. He appears as the
third lover in a music video
for band-label mates Boxer’s
latest single, “Meu tee
sharm” (A Third Person).
While stealing another man’s
girlfriend won’t win him any
karma, he looks to be enjoying
being on the other side of
heartbreak in the video.
The video starts with a
couple having dinner. The
boyfriend leaves to go to the
Taiy appears in Boxer’s latest music video “Meu tee sharm”.
The most watched YouTube
video of the year, a new
Guinness world record holder
for the most “liked” video and
now the first Korean in history
to ever top the British music
singles chart; Psy’s quest
for world music domination
shows no signs of slowing
down.
As of Sunday, “Gangnam
Style” is officially the number
one song on the U.K. Singles
Top 100 chart, becoming the
first Korean song to achieve
the feat. According to an
article on the chart’s website,
Psy revealed his appreciation
to his U.K. fans and said that
he is planning to visit very
soon.
After its release on July 15,
the horse dancing phoneme’s
global spread is continuing at
a record-breaking pace. With
340,754,356 YouTube views,
as of Tuesday afternoon, Psy
has the whole world watching,
and waiting.
The official Billboard
website has even created a
“Psy Watch” page to give
fans a daily update on the
song’s progress and whether
or not “Gangnam Style”
will eventually dominate
the US charts by reaching
the number one spot of the
Boxer’s recently released poster to promote their new single “Meu tee sharm”.
hot singles Billboard charts.
Psy has stated that should he
reach the top spot, he will
perform topless for the world
to see. Although the Billboard
updates predict that Maroon
5’s “One More Night” will
remain at the number one
spot through next week, Psy’s
numbers still continue to
climb.
Even “Gangnam Style”
parodies, covers and flash
toilet, and Taiy comes to take her number – and so
begins their affair.
While the man and Taiy’s lover make efforts to
stay together, they finally accept their relationship has
been lost to a third person.
“Meu tee sharm” is a dig at people who take away
another’s loved one, as well as asking them what it
would feel like if the situation was reversed.
“Meu tee sharm” is similar to Boxer’s debut
“Tharng hua cai”. Both are songs about broken hearts
and dishonest love.
“Tharng hua chai” describes a man who leaves
his girlfriend for another, only to realise his mistake.
When he tries to make amends, she’s moved on and
has found a better boyfriend with whom he can’t
compete. While he realises he’s missed his chance for
love, he still needs to ask for her forgiveness.
“Meu tee sharm” was released on YouTube in
September, and already boasts 16,000 views.
Many viewers are leaving comments to share their
own painful experience the video’s content evokes.
