AWARENESS

Perception of Beauty

M O D E L : S A B I H A Y I L D I Z O Z T E M I R

Although the meaning of the word beauty is "the quality of what is beautiful", it has always

represented a single appearance according to its time for many years. A small upturned

nose, a full lip, pleasant eyes, slim waist, and much more... We have been told not to call

ourselves beautiful when the adjective we have does not correspond to it. We weren't

taught that it was good to be ourselves. Indeed, over time, everyone has become similar to

each other. For example, in the 1990s, when thin eyebrows were in fashion, everyone did it.

By that time it was considered beautiful, which made everyone make it. And now, natural

and thicker eyebrows are in fashion. Moreover, now we look at people who have finely

shaped their eyebrows differently. We are looking because changing beauty standards

that we cannot get ahead of are telling us that this is not the beauty right now. They

impose it on us so internally that they make fun of us when we say that we find ourselves

"in that state" beautiful. "How do you like that thin lip of yours? Lips should be thick, it

should be plump."Why is that? Is the beautiful lip the only plump one? Or is the pretty nose

just the little upturned one?
