1980 wurde das Hotel Aberseehof im Salzkammergut mit Gasthaus
von Franz und Helga Gassner aus der Taufe gehoben. Seit
1999 hält Franz Junior die Geschicke des Hauses in Händen,
tatkräftig unterstützt von seiner Frau Cornelia und den gemeinsamen
Kindern Anna und Patrick. 2014 wurde der Aberseehof
komplett neugestaltet – inklusive aller Zimmer und Suiten.
Hotel Aberseehof and guesthouse was
founded in 1980 by Franz and Helga
Gassner. Since 1999, Franz Junior has
held the reins of the Salzkammergut
hotel dynamically supported by his
wife Cornelia and their children Anna
and Patrick. In 2014 the Aberseehof
was overhauled in its entirety – including
all rooms and suites.

In unserem Restaurant am Wolfgangsee lernst
du unsere Region optisch und geschmacklich
kennen – wie durch die moderne Interpretation
des Landhausstils oder die geschmackliche
Vielfalt auf dem Teller. Neben der Region
spielt auch die Saison eine Hauptrolle in unserer
Küche. Etwa in Form von frischem Fisch aus
dem nur wenige Meter entfernten Wolfgangsee,
Wild aus den umliegenden Revieren oder knackigem
Gemüse von heimischen Bauern.

hoteleigenen Badeplatz geht sie es etwas entspannter an. Selbst im Hochsommer herrscht hier eine
freundliche Gelassenheit beim Schwimmen im Wolfgangsee oder beim herrlichen Entspannen.
Time may not have stopped along the shores of the deep blue Lake Wolfgang, but it is definitely
taking it easier at our hotel‘s own beach area. It even stays relaxed at the height of summer.

Festspielen und der weltberühmten barocken Architektur,
und Bad Ischl, der Kaiserstadt und Sommerfrische-Destination
von Adel, Dichtern und Denkern. Flaniere durch den
schönen Kurpark in Bad Ischl oder die berühmten Räume
der Kaiservilla. Im Sommer ist das Lehar Festival ein Tipp.
Besuche Salzburg – das Rom des Nordens – und lass dich

festival and world-famous baroque architecture, and Bad Ischl, the emperor‘s city and the summer resort of
aristocracy, poets and thinkers. Stroll through the beautiful spa gardens at Bad Ischl or the famous rooms of
the imperial villa. In summer, we recommend the Lehar Festival. Visit Salzburg – the „Rome of the North“ –
and be enchanted by the baroque beauty of this festival city. But there is also much to discover beyond these
famous highlights with many stunning sights in the Lake Wolfgang area – such as the world-famous winged
altarpiece at the St. Wolfgang pilgrimage church or the Mozart House in St. Gilgen. And in December you can
visit the most beautiful Christmas market in Austria – the Wolfgangseer Advent.

The best Christmas
markets at Lake Wolfgang
Jede der drei Gemeinden bietet einen eigenen,
charakteristischen Adventmarkt und dennoch
haben alle Märkte ein Ziel: Die Tradition der
Weihnachtszeit im Salzkammergut authentisch
zu präsentieren. Geboten werden regionale
Schmankerl, kleine und große Handwerksarbeiten
von lokalen Produzenten und jede Menge
Weihnachtsstimmung. Als Attraktion zählen
neben lebensgroßen geschnitzten Krippen und
Streichelgehegen auch die Wahrzeichen des
Wolfgangseer Advents. Am St. Gilgener Seeufer
erleuchtet eine elf Meter hohe Adventkerze die
Umgebung und das Strobler Ufer ziert ein sechs
Meter großer, schwebender Komet. Das Wahrzeichen
von St. Wolfgang, eine weithin sichtbare
Friedenslichtlaterne, schwimmt vor den Lichtern
des geschmückten Ortsbildes am See.

There are regional delicacies,
small and large handicrafts from local
producers and lots of Christmas atmosphere.
Attractions include life-size
carved nativity scenes and animals
to look at, as well as the landmarks
of the Lake Wolfgang Advent. On the
shore of St. Gilgen, an eleven-metrehigh
Advent candle illuminates the
surroundings and the Strobl shore is
adorned by a six-metre-high floating
comet. The landmark of St. Wolfgang,
a lantern of peace visible from afar,
floats in front of the lights of the decorated
lakeside village.
