INTRODUCING DR ANDREA<br />
BREARLEY AT WESTDALE DENTAL<br />

Andrea Brearley isn’t new to<br />
Mapperley, she’s worked here<br />
for many years. After qualifying<br />
as a dentists 25years ago,<br />
Andrea has been practising<br />
dentistry in Mapperley for over<br />
16 years. She has gained a<br />
reputation amongst her peers<br />
and patients for the care and<br />
attention she provides, the<br />
quality of her work and the<br />
obvious love of her job.<br />
Less well known however, is the<br />
fact that she has been providing<br />
facial aesthetic treatments<br />
successfully but discreetly in<br />
Nottingham for the last 15<br />
years. This is an extremely long<br />
time in this speciality and places<br />
her at its inception into the UK.<br />
Her first qualification (there<br />
have been many since) was with<br />
a prominent plastic surgeon in<br />
Harley Street. Back then, there<br />
were very few conferences<br />
and exhibitions held in medical<br />
aesthetics. So much so, that the<br />
pioneers of botulinum toxin,<br />
Jean and Alastair Carruthers<br />
would fly from Vancouver to<br />
the UK to hold masterclasses<br />
which Andrea feels privileged to<br />
have attended.<br />
Dr Andrea continued to<br />
advance her knowledge as the<br />
industry developed. In 2012, she<br />
submitted work to the Faculty<br />
of General Dental Practice<br />
for their Masterclass in Facial<br />
Aesthetics and was awarded a<br />
distinction. Her latest course<br />
was in London in December,<br />
and her enthusiasm shows no<br />
sign of abating.<br />
Her love of aesthetics in<br />
dentistry, and thorough<br />
knowledge of head and neck<br />
anatomy makes this a perfect<br />
speciality for Dr Andrea, but it<br />
has been watching the impact<br />
of treatments on client’s<br />
confidence and well being, that<br />
has led to a love affair that has<br />
never ended.<br />
“I recall the first treatment that<br />
I saw vividly.” says Dr Andrea.<br />
“The results were subtle yet so<br />
dramatic, and the patient so<br />
overjoyed, that I was incredibly<br />
moved and excited. My mission<br />
has always been to remember<br />
that experience and bring it to<br />
my clients.”<br />
Dr Andreas passion is to deliver<br />
natural results and to be<br />
discreet.<br />
“I understand that people<br />
maybe nervous. Many are<br />
worried that they might<br />
have treatments that will be<br />
noticeable, that it might not<br />
be for them, or that it might<br />
go wrong. Others feel anxious<br />
about considering treatments<br />
that “shouldn’t matter”.<br />

time. Andrea sees clients at<br />
Westdale Dental Practice and<br />
at Ankohi, on Gordon Road<br />
in West Bridgford. Her clients<br />
range from the age of 18 to<br />
over 80. An hour is set aside<br />
for each client, and there is<br />
no pressure and no hard sell.<br />
“There is a lot to talk about at<br />
your consultation, and there are<br />
no silly questions.” she says.<br />
