RegnalLeibensperger,Pres.SCHUYLKILL COUNTY SHRINE CLUBAt our April meeting we heard a story of how the Shriner Hospitals continue to help children who maybe born with severe birth defects.One particular young girl had a difference of 2.5 inches in the length of her legs. This made walkingwith a raised shoe very strenuous and running and playing with her friends all but impossible.The doctors and medical staff at the Shriners Hospital, this one in St. Louis MO, were able to medicallymake corrections to her legs assuring her a much more normal and pleasant chance to have a happychildhood.How often the adverse and hurtful experiences of our youth, leave a lasting impact into our adulthood.How wonderful it is that Shriners Hospitals has so many times, over and over, made life so much betterfor our children who often have no control over their situation. Nobles, let us thank God that we are able tobe a part of this great humanitarian effort to bring joy and help to our children who are in need of medicaltreatment.Watch for our summer picnic to be held at the Shrine Complex. Date and time will be announcedshortly.We are having our annual picnic on June 28, at the Rajah Shrine Pavilion. Social hour is 5:30 and we eat at 6:30. The club willprovide hot dogs and condiments. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish. As in the past, anyMason or Shriner is welcome toparticipate in one or more of ouroutings.Our first outing was held onWednesday, April 20, 2022 at theBerkleigh Golf Club near Kutztownand was thoroughly enjoyed by allOur second outing will be held on Wednesday, May 18,2022 at Lebanon Valley Golf Club. This has historicallybeen one of our most popular venues and I am certain thatthis year will be no different. This outing will also be ascramble, and each golfer will receive a $10.00 voucherfor food and beverages at the snack bar to be used after theround.We, the Officers, look forward to welcoming manycurrent and prospective members of the Rajah Golf Clubat the outing. Once again, if you feel that you might beinterested in joining us on a monthly basis all that you haveto do is contact one of the following Club Officers: GilbertF. Darlak Home 610-678-4963; Frank L. Hopefully the troutfishermen have been successful aswe have had “some” nice weather.Speaking of weather, we had somegood temperatures and sunshine forour trip to Black Lake in New York forpike and crappies. Eight of our anglersincluding past Potentates and currentDivan nobles, made the trip.We had a nice meeting planned withfishing and a picnic planned at NevinBehm’s farm for our May meeting but, because of a lack ofresponses, we had to cancel the event. It becomes difficult toplan for interesting,fun-filled and informative meetings withoutyour participation. We are all getting up in age and don’t havethe enthusiasm or ability to do things we used to do. Withoutyou we don’t have an Angler’s club.By the time you read this letter our paper drive will be overand hopefully we will have filled all the slots at the Redner’sstore in Northampton. It has always been a very giving clientelebut we need to be visible for the patrons to donate.We still have a lot of sauerkraut for sale even without aspring processing, so your help is needed!Keep Mike Artim in your prayers as he continues to fighthealth issues.
