When life gets complicated, we ride...
If you’re a motorcyclist, you’ll know that there is nothing like a little
throttle therapy to get you through the rough patches. Perhaps it’s
because you’re an expert at avoiding potholes and slowing down over
speed bumps - both literally and metaphorically. Maybe it’s because you
are able to think fast in less-than-favourable situations. Or maybe it’s
just because you understand that the joy of living fully is infinitely more
rewarding than the risk.
TVS Motor Company aim for 300 new jobs in
three years with latest £100m investment in
Norton
TVS Motor Company has announced a £100m investment
into the historic Norton Motorcycles brand.
The Indian automotive giant purchased Norton in April
2020 and have already invested some of this cash
into a new manufacturing plant in Solihull, as well as
reengineering the 961 Commando and V4 SV superbike
ahead of their upcoming launches.
This month Perry Bikes got two spanking-new rrivals - the Husqvarna
Svartpilen 401 and the Suzuki Gixxer 150 Naked from.
The Svartpilen combines power, light weight and exceptional build
quality to create an unmistakably pure riding experience, and the Gixxer
150 Naked offers massive bang for your buck. In addition to the many
exciting newcomers, Perry Bikes are excited to announce that they are
now offering adventure travel enthusiasts Scooter Hire services.
Rent a reliable bike for as long as you want for a low daily price, with
the value-added option to have the bike delivered to you. For more
information or to get in touch with their team or visit www.perrybikes.
“This investment will be towards electrification, cutting
edge technology, world class vehicles, manufacturing,
sustainability and the future of mobility,” Joint Managing
Director of TVS, Sudarshan Venu said. “The investments,
spread over the next few years, will result in an exciting
range of products for the global market.”
Alongside jobs at Norton, Venu went on to speak about
fresh opportunities across the motorcycle industry – with
the new investment expected to bring a further 500 to 800
indirect jobs across the supply chain.
The fresh funding was announced at the same time as
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s most recent visit to India,
which took place on April 21-22. Exactly how much of this
money has already been spent remains unavailable at this
time.
“Trade and investment between the UK and India is
creating good jobs and sustaining livelihoods in both of
our countries,” Johnson said. “I’m very pleased that TVS
Motor Company has decided to join the legions of Indian
companies investing in the UK, boosting our future mobility
sector and driving economic growth.”
Let’s hope it all works out…
