ARTS AND RECREATIONFISHING DERBYOn April 30, the City of GreenwoodVillage hosted the annual FishingDerby and Rubber Duck Regatta atTommy Davis Park. ARTS AND RECREATIONJULY IS NATIONAL PARKS AND RECREATION MONTHIn conjunction with the National Recreationand Parks Association (NRPA), the Parks, Trails,and Recreation Department would like torecognize July as National Parks and RecreationMonth. We Rise Up for Parks and Recreationand all the professionals who build strong,vibrant and resilient communities through thepower of parks and recreation.This July, we are bringing attention to howimportant it is to rise up and support our field,because every day, park and recreationprofessionals rise up for their communities inservice of equity, climate-readiness, and overallhealth and well-being.In celebration of Parks and Recreation Month,we will be offering the following activities andevents.• Ice Cream Social —July 8 at Silo Park, 1 to 2:30 p.m.• Proclamation — July 11 at City Council Meeting.• Interactive Photo Scavenger Hunt in the parks throughout themonth.
