Heading into holidays now.
On 5th June Rev Alistair Shaw
spoke of the Queen in this
her 70th Jubilee year about
her service and also about her
tremendous faith. Quite sure this
has helped her over the years.
Excellent service and tea
and cake after were very
appreciated.
Not much more this month, but
remember that our services will
be open all through the summer
at the usual time of 10am each
Sunday.
All are welcome in this place.

hugely talented ‘Jazz Forward’ as

pandemic.
The Lochwinnoch Golf Club again

treated to a wonderful evening of
musical talent.

Senior Citizens Afternoon Tea
On 7th of June Howwood Community Council held our first afternoon tea
since before the pandemic for our Senior Citizens at The Midton Bowling
Club. Although it was held indoors, the sun shone on a beautiful summers
day and helped create a brilliant atmosphere.
It was very well attended by about 40 Howwood residents and it is fair to
say that all of us enjoyed the afternoon, full of sandwiches, an assortment
of cakes donated by The Boarding House, tea, coffee, soft drinks and
loads of blethers!
Great to see and hear!
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the appearance of the children’s
choir from Howwood Primary School who sang some great songs from a
few years gone by, adding to the party feel of the afternoon.
Our oldest villager, Peggy Moore, had just celebrated her 95th birthday.
Peggy was born in Howwood and has lived in and been very much a part
of the village ever since. As our “Queen For The Day”, she was presented
with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of us all by Coire Watkins, the youngest
of the talented youngsters from the school.
Hopefully, the day marked a welcome return to the times of meeting
up and friendship we have all enjoyed in the past - with many more to
come.
Thanks to all who made it possible from all sides of our community.
