MyFather retired as Sub Inspector from PunjabPolice and mother is a homemaker.Your Early EducationIcompleted Junior High School at Goraya andHigh School (+2)from Govt College, Ludhiana.Later, I joined Panjab University BiochemistryDepartment, Chandigarh and completedMasters with Honours and Doctorate (PhD).Your career advancement initiatives,volunteer work and present occupationAfter completing my PhD, I migrated to Canadaalong with my wife in 2005 to explore careeroptions in my filed of my specialization(Biochemistry). During my search for a newjob, I got the opportunity to take up a PostDoctoral Research position in USA atLouisiana State University Health ScienceCenter, New Orleans, LA and we decided tomove to USA within few months of arriving inCanada. In 2011, I joined as AssistantProfessor in the same institute. In 2013, Idecided to move back to India when I wasselected for a Ramalingaswami Fellowship,the Program initiated by Government of India,with an aim to provide opportunity toResearchers working abroad to return backto India. After spending 8 years at foreign land,I joined back my parent institute on Aug, 2013.Currently, I am serving as a Professor,Department of Biochemistry, PanjabUniversity, Chandigarh, India.Your Regret in LifeLife is full of opportunities as well aschallenges. Therefore, I believe that thereshould not be much place for regret. One hasto focus on duty in hand and try to do his/herbest and face the reality. However,the rate at which changes happens primarilydue to faster changing technology, the mindgets restricted to adapting to such changesProf Amarjit Nauraand in the process life seems to have becomemore personalized and in the process socialvalues system is deteriorating. Therefore, Ifeel due to fast pace life time, peace andhappiness have become luxury whichultimately makes the life stressful even if onehas access to all the basic amenities.Sometimes, I do feel that a quest forprosperity has becomes counterproductive inthe present times as feeling of RUHANIAThas becomes rarity.What Brought You Success?I like to focus on job in hand and try to performit honestly with best of my abilities.
