Mountain side
The Col de la Faucille is the starting point for several hikes
from which you can admire a 360° view of the Jura and
Mont Blanc, just a few minutes from downtown Gex. The
Mont Rond telecombi (1,534 metres), open daily, allows
hikers to reach the summit effortlessly. Other activities for
the whole family are offered on the site, such as the natural
and cultural course "Under
the eye of the Wyvern," a
thematic and fun space developed
in conjunction with local
artists. It takes young and old
in the footsteps of the Wyvern,
the legendary creature of the
Jura. You can also hike with
donkeys, mountain bike or
paraglide.
La Faucille is also home to
one of the longest rail sleds in
Europe, which offers a track of
almost 1 km, with hairpin bends
and an unmissable view of the
mountains. The bravest will be
able to set off on the steepest
zip line in France, connecting
La Faucille to Mijoux. It has
an elevation difference of 312
metres and can reach 90 km/h
of speed!
