Hopefully everyone enjoyed the warm weather in June and got<br />
into that communityspirit during the Jubilee Weekend. Lots of<br />
yougot in touch with stories and pictures of packed events, and<br />
street parties, and it was great to see people out celebrating<br />
after the last couple of years we’ve all had to endure.<br />
We were delighted to meet with local volunteer Michelle<br />
Taurins recently as she was recognised asaRoyal Platinum<br />
Champion! Congratulations to Michelle, who has been a<br />
volunteerfor over 10 years. We got to hear herstory of how the<br />
award cameabout. Turn to our Charitysection on page 18 for all<br />
the info.<br />
There are details of local boy, Charlie, who was diagnosed with<br />
Muscular DystrophyDuchenne whenhewas 4. His parents best<br />
friend Nicola Hinchcliffe has set up a Justgiving Page for<br />
donations aiming to raise funds for awheelchair. This will<br />
enable Charlie to have arelatively normal day to day life. Please<br />
see our Community section on Page 34for more on how you<br />
canhelp.<br />
It was great to catch up with Andy, the owner at No 4Coffee<br />
House in Clowne (seeabove). Many locals will remember fondly<br />
the Toy Shop that was there before and we delve into<br />
the history ofthe building as well as the positive changes<br />
Andy and his team have made at No 4. Check out page22for the<br />
details.<br />
