WHEN GOD DOESN'T ANSWER OUR PRAYERS
by Tim Heidenriech | June 18, 2022
We all know that we go to God and ask for many things, but they don’t always come to pass. Whether we need relief from
crushing financial problems, wisdom about a failing relationship, or healing for a loved one, we know we can ask God and
He will hear us.
However, He won’t always do things our way. His ways are higher than our ways, and His plan for us is better for us than
our own plans. I want to recommend a three step approach that I’ve used in those situations.
1. Tell God what you want. Pray to Him as if He were standing there and you are just talking. Adam and Eve used to
walk in the cool evenings and talk with God. That was the beginning of prayer as we know it.
2. Watch what He does. Don’t stew about it and worry yourself sick. That won’t change anything so don’t waste your
effort on it. It also shows that you aren’t fully trusting in Him.
3. Be content with the outcome. Even if your loved one dies, or you file bankruptcy, or your friend never speaks to you
again, be content. God heard your prayer, made a decision, and it’s the perfect decision. Such is life – simply trust that
the best will come – eventually – maybe even after you are dead – but it will come.
Remember who God is. He is the one and only, true, living God of all creation. And He cannot be wrong about anything.
However, we can. Trust in Him and the power of prayer.
