Our staff will be waiting for you at the airport and will transfer<br />

you from the Athens airport, it is approximately a 45 minute<br />

drive to your hotel.<br />

Day 2<br />

Athens Sightseeing and “food walking tour”<br />

Today enjoy sightseeing in Athens. Your expert guide will give you the<br />

opportunity to fully understand the role <strong>of</strong> Athens in antiquity and<br />

through the ages.<br />

Your guide will reveal to you the secrets <strong>of</strong> the Acropolis & the<br />

Parthenon, the Temple <strong>of</strong> Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch and the<br />

Kallimarmaro Stadium, built <strong>of</strong> marble for the first modern<br />

Olympic Games in 1896.<br />

Experience the ancient wonders and relive the birthplace <strong>of</strong><br />

democracy, twist and turn through the Plaka’s narrow streets and<br />

find ancient sites, cafes and shops full <strong>of</strong> history and character.<br />

After the visit to the Acropolis continue to the Acropolis<br />

Museum. A beautiful new museum (opened in 2009) with<br />

exceptional finds from the Acropolis.<br />

Afterwards delve into modern Athens and enjoy discovering the<br />

Day 3<br />

Athens to Kalambaka<br />

Today set <strong>of</strong>f North to the area <strong>of</strong> the majestic Meteora (town <strong>of</strong><br />

Kalambaka). The World Heritage listed Meteora is an extraordinary<br />

place and one <strong>of</strong> the most visited in all <strong>of</strong> <strong>Greece</strong>. The massive<br />

pinnacles <strong>of</strong> smooth rock could be the setting for a futuristic<br />

science-fiction tale, or an ancient one.<br />

Check in to your hotel, take the opportunity to walk through the<br />

picturesque town.<br />

Afternoon visit to a local distillery. Family owned – taste the local<br />

wines and “tsipouro” (the Greek equivalent to Grappa).<br />

Dinner tonight is at a traditional small restaurant where the Greek<br />

Day 4<br />

Visit the Meteora monasteries and town <strong>of</strong><br />

Metsovo<br />

When you awaken to see the awe-inspiring rock formations<br />

unfold before your eyes, you will easily understand why we call<br />

this place Meteora, which means “suspended in the heavens<br />

above.” Today we will climb above the charming mountain<br />

villages <strong>of</strong> Kastraki and Kalambaka to visit two <strong>of</strong> the six<br />

surviving Monasteries <strong>of</strong> Meteora, a UNESCO world heritage site<br />

and one <strong>of</strong> the most important complexes <strong>of</strong> Eastern Orthodox<br />

monasteries in the world. See how the monks live today and<br />

enter some <strong>of</strong> the most captivating Byzantine basilicas in<br />

<strong>Greece</strong>.<br />

Free time for lunch.<br />

In the afternoon set <strong>of</strong>f to the picturesque town <strong>of</strong> Metsovo.<br />

One <strong>of</strong> the prettiest mountain villages <strong>of</strong> <strong>Greece</strong> – known for its<br />

Day 5<br />

Kalambaka to Delphi<br />

Pie making and cooking<br />

Today a drive south to Delphi. Check in to your hotel and set <strong>of</strong>f<br />

to the beautiful port town <strong>of</strong> Galaxidi (about 30 minutes from<br />

Delphi).<br />

The prettiest resort along the Gulf <strong>of</strong> Corinth, little Galaxidi<br />

curves around a seafront hillock, with narrow cobblestone<br />

streets connecting the well-sheltered harbours to either side.<br />

The older harbour was a major shipbuilding centre during the<br />

19th century, a prosperous era when the town acquired its fine<br />

crop <strong>of</strong> stone mansions.<br />

A pie making cooking class today at Galaxidi, hosted by a local<br />

the cooking class brings to life the culture <strong>of</strong> the area as it is<br />

experienced by preparing food together. Enjoy the wonderful<br />

experience and the hospitality <strong>of</strong> the host.<br />

Day 6<br />

Nafplion [sightseeing Delphi]<br />

Today, in the morning enjoy the sightseeing <strong>of</strong> Ancient Delphi, probably the<br />

ancient worlds most famous oracle.<br />

The site is at the foot <strong>of</strong> the mountain; the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary <strong>of</strong><br />

Delphi, here we start our walk. Passing by the Castalia Spring we will visit<br />

the archaeological site and view the monument <strong>of</strong> the Argive Kings, the<br />

treasury <strong>of</strong> the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the<br />

monument <strong>of</strong> Platea and the Temple <strong>of</strong> Apollo. The site is very large and<br />

there is a lot to see including the famous oracle where in ancient times<br />

people believed they would learn what their future held.<br />

Enjoy the views from the site, they are incredible – the setting is so<br />

impressive that in ancient times it was considered the navel <strong>of</strong> the world.<br />

After walking the site we will visit the museum. The Delphi museum has<br />

spectacular exhibits including the frieze <strong>of</strong> the Treasury <strong>of</strong> the Sifnians, the<br />

Naxian Sphinx, the Statue <strong>of</strong> Antinoos the metopes <strong>of</strong> the Athenian<br />

treasury and the famous bronze Charioteer. It is well worth visiting the<br />

museum as the exhibits complement what we saw at the site and allow us<br />

to get a better understanding <strong>of</strong> the role Delphi played in antiquity.<br />

After a wonderful local lunch set <strong>of</strong>f south to the town <strong>of</strong> Nafplion.<br />

views <strong>of</strong> its Venetian Castle, and experience the towns’ sophisticated<br />

Sightseeing Epidaurus<br />

Wine Tasting in Nemea<br />

Today the tour continues with a great day <strong>of</strong> sites and wines !<br />

Set <strong>of</strong>f in the morning to the Epidaurus site to visit the remarkable<br />

ancient theater <strong>of</strong> Epidaurus and the healing sanctuary <strong>of</strong> Asclepius,<br />

God <strong>of</strong> Medicine.<br />

A most important region in southern <strong>Greece</strong> for the production <strong>of</strong> red<br />

wines is Nemea; it is considered the crown jewel <strong>of</strong> the new Greek<br />

wine industry. Here the Agiorghitiko grape (Saint George) is used and<br />

produces wines famous for their deep red color, complex aroma and<br />

long, velvety palate. Visit one <strong>of</strong> the best local wineries, known for its<br />

excellent quality wines, for a wine tasting experience and light lunch.<br />

The rest <strong>of</strong> the afternoon will be at leisure in Nafplion town where you<br />

will find lovey seafood tavernas for your dinner at leisure.<br />

Day 8<br />

Fly to Mykonos<br />

Today set<strong>of</strong>f from Nafplion to Athens airport for a short<br />

flight to stunning Mykonos, famous for its brightly whitewashed<br />

cubed houses, jet setting visitors and wonderful<br />

nightlife..<br />

After checking in to your hotel , transfer into Mykonos town<br />

for a walk <strong>of</strong> the narrow streets <strong>of</strong> this world-famous port.<br />

Enjoy local tastes on the walk and get a better<br />

understanding <strong>of</strong> the local life.<br />

Amazing food walking tour (private – pick up from<br />

Experience the essence <strong>of</strong> the beautiful town <strong>of</strong><br />

Mykonos. On this leisurely walk through the narrow<br />

Day 9<br />

Excursion to Delos<br />

Today in the morning a highlight visit to the Unesco world heritage site<br />

<strong>of</strong> Delos island.<br />

Start <strong>of</strong>f this lovely tour from your hotel where you will be<br />

picked up and transferred to the port. The island <strong>of</strong> Delos is<br />

about nine miles <strong>of</strong>f the coast <strong>of</strong> Mykonos and the boat ride<br />

there will take about 30 minutes. Enjoy the time on board and<br />

bask in the sun, feel the sea breeze and take in the Aegean blue<br />

sea.<br />

The site you will visit today is one <strong>of</strong> the most impressive in<br />

<strong>Greece</strong> with an incredible history; the sacred island <strong>of</strong> Delos.<br />

The mythical birthplace <strong>of</strong> twins Apollo and Artemis, splendid<br />

Ancient Delos was a shrine turned sacred treasury and<br />

commercial center. Your guide will make this site “come alive”,<br />

the remains <strong>of</strong> the city are so clear that you easily see how the<br />

ancients lived and the city thrived. On Delos, which is Unesco<br />

World Heritage Site, the excavations are among the most<br />

extensive in the Mediterranean; and it is a site where the<br />

ongoing work is still taking place.<br />

The boat ride back to Mykonos will give you time to relax before<br />

returning and ending this unique experience.<br />

Day 10<br />

Santorini<br />

Dinner at Oia<br />

Today travel south from the island <strong>of</strong> Mykonos to the island <strong>of</strong> Santorini.<br />

A boat journey across the beautiful Aegean sea. As you approach<br />

Santorini from the water, it's hard not to be awed by the sheer cliffs<br />

that soar above a turquoise sea, by the fact that you're sailing in an<br />

immense crater <strong>of</strong> a drowned volcano and that before you lies an island<br />

shaped by an ancient eruption.<br />

Arrive in Santorini and transfer to our hotel. The rest <strong>of</strong> the day is at<br />

leisure. Take the time to explore the island, considered one <strong>of</strong> the top<br />

destinations worldwide. Amazing views, unique landscapes are the key<br />

highlights <strong>of</strong> the island.<br />

Tonight transfer from your hotel to the beautiful village <strong>of</strong> Oia (the most<br />

Day 11<br />

Sunset cruise<br />

This morning is free for you to enjoy the spectacular island <strong>of</strong><br />

Santorini.<br />

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a very special cruise with<br />

dinner onboard a Catamaran. Enjoy a beautiful afternoon out<br />

on the water sailing the Santorini caldera. See the one <strong>of</strong> the<br />

most beautiful sunsets. This small group semi-private cruise<br />

includes sailing, swimming and a wonderful meal on board.<br />

The yachts includes ample space including hammock style nets<br />

on the bow for you to sunbathe and good space in the main<br />

cabin for when the sun gets to be too much. The captain will<br />

set anchor at a spectacular spot and your crew will prepare a<br />

most important and well-preserved civilizations in the<br />

Mediterranean, which was covered by the ashes <strong>of</strong> the great<br />

volcanic eruption <strong>of</strong> 1600 B.C – <strong>of</strong>ten call the Pompei <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Greece</strong>.<br />

After the visit to Akrotiri, enjoy a highlight <strong>of</strong> this trip and on<br />
