Perfect finish<br />

The Ottobock company in Duderstadt,<br />

Germany, manufacturer of all kinds of<br />

orthopedic systems, recently<br />

commissioned two new mass finishing<br />

systems from Rösler. The equipment is utilized<br />

at a factory in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, that was<br />

opened in 2021. For planning and building its<br />

tenth and largest manufacturing facility this<br />

global health-tech company paid special<br />

attention to efficient and sustainable<br />

operations. For this reason, a specially<br />

developed Keramo-Finish process, an energyefficient<br />

dryer and a centrifuge for cleaning<br />

and recycling of the process water are being<br />

utilized.<br />

For more than 100 years Ottobock’s<br />

innovative products and services in the fields<br />

of prosthetics, orthotics, human mobility and<br />

patient care have helped to achieve<br />

independence and quality of life for patients<br />

with restricted mobility. The company’s<br />

developments include the microprocessorcontrolled<br />

knee join C-Leg, controlled by an<br />

app, the computer-controlled leg prothesis C-<br />

Brace, the multi-articulated hand bebionic and<br />

Juvo electrical wheel chairs. Since 2018 the<br />
