Bhubaneswar, North Odissa : The branch celebrated<br />
its 12th foundation day on 16th March, 2010<br />
commemorating with Hindu Navvarsh day. The<br />
evening was most pleasant and jubilant by listening<br />
to the Chief Guest Sri Ajit Kumar Tripathy, I.A.S.<br />
(retired Chief Secretary) the Chief Election Commissioner<br />
of Orissa. Sri Mangala Prasad Mohanty,<br />
Hony Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society,<br />
Odissa Branch being guest of honour lauded his<br />
past connection with <strong>Bharat</strong> <strong>Vikas</strong> <strong>Parishad</strong> when<br />
he was posted at P.Ms. Office at New Delhi. Smt.<br />
Premalata Devi presided over the function. The<br />
souvenir "Swabhiman" was released by the guests.<br />
Smt. Harapriya Pattanaik a member of the<br />
Branch and presently working as Headmistress in<br />
Govt. Girls High School, Unit IX, Bhubaneswar was<br />
honoured for her distinguished work in child literature<br />
by Padmashree Smt. Prativa Roy, an eminent<br />
novelist of the state on behalf of childrens' magazine<br />
"Saradsashi".<br />
Bokaro Thermal, Jharkhand : Branch celebrated<br />
Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti on 14.04.10 at<br />
DVC ME SCHOOL Bokaro Thermal. The programme<br />
was inagurated by the ZOS Er. G.P.<br />
Singh. He was assisted by Gen Secy Er. P.K. Ambastha<br />
and Vice Presidents Er. Anil Kumar and Er.<br />
A.P. Singh. The speaker described at length the<br />
contributions of Baba Sahib and the main purpose<br />
of the Institute for poor and meritorious students.<br />
The welcome address was delivered by Er. Rajeev<br />
Ranjan and a vote of thanks was proposed by Er.<br />
Amrit Lal. The manch sanchalan was performed by<br />
Er. Deepak Kumar. The dignitories present were<br />
Sri S.B. Singh, A.P. Mehta, Vinod Bhatia, Smt.<br />
Rinky Prasad, Mauli Ganguly and the selected 17<br />
students with their guardians.<br />
GK-I, Delhi South : The Branch organized a Vishal<br />
Rastriya Kavi Sammelan on 11.04.10 at 'R' Block<br />
Central Park, G.K.-1, in celebration of Baisakhi and<br />
Nav Vikrami Samwat 2067. 13 well known Kavis<br />
participated and regaled the audiance of over 300<br />
guests, including Smt. Shashi Azad, General Secretary<br />
and other adhikaris and members of B.V.P.,<br />
with their well-composed Kavitas on Rasthtriya<br />
Ekta. One of the oldest B.V.P's Founder Member.<br />
Sh. Prakash Chandra of about 89 years of age too<br />
attended it in his wheel chair. The function was<br />
graced, as Chief Guest by Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra,<br />
Hon'ble Opposition Leader in Delhi's Vidhan<br />
Sabha and presided over by Sh. O.P. Sharda,<br />
Hon'ble Area Councillor. The anchoring was done<br />
by TV artist Dr. Rekha Vyas and Sh. Vijay Gupt, a<br />
known Ashu poet and Sr. Vice President of B.V.P.,<br />
in their typical poetical way. Sh. V.P. Agarwal, president<br />
of the Branch described in brief B.V.P.'s aim<br />
and objective. In the key note address Prof. Malhotra<br />
recalled his old intimate acquaintance with<br />
