School Year<br />
Our new school year launched with the inspiring theme of ‘Focus on the Good’. This short but effective tagline<br />
reminds everyone within our school community to stay optimistic and hopeful despite the inevitable uncertainties and<br />
obstacles we are dealt with throughout life. Focusing on the good allows us to rise above our current challenges, to find<br />
a solution to every problem by remaining upbeat and resilient with a ‘glass half-full’ mindset. As usual, the Newsletter<br />
shines a spotlight on how different members of our community are focusing on goodness, through active participation<br />
in a broad range of activities such as STEM and reading competitions which build students’ skills and confidence. Odd<br />
Socks Day has become an annual highlight at CKY, where we celebrate the diversity of our school community and<br />
recognise each individual’s differences as a strength. Moreover, our New Teachers have introduced themselves by<br />
sharing their desert island discs as music can be a powerful means of reframing one’s mood and outlook towards<br />
goodness! As usual, some of our alumni, who have achieved marvellous things at university and beyond, have shared<br />
with the Newsletter their journey since graduating from CKY, and what an exciting future beckons for them now!<br />
