We seek a strongly relational, down-to-earth,
highly organised and culturally responsive
registered guidance counsellor to work alongside
our learners, staff and broader community in our
rapidly growing school.
While your core role is to offer counselling
services to learners, staff and whānau as
required, our counselling team will work
collaboratively to ensure school-wide Hauora
(wellbeing), and care systems evolve, so we
continue to meet the needs of our school
community. Working collaboratively with the
staff, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe
and inclusive climate in the College, free of
intolerance, harassment and bullying.
The successful applicant will be responsible
for leading the counselling service at the
College within the framework of its pastoral
care strategy, managing the counselling team,
providing practical and professional counselling
to students, parents and staff, and training and
equipping teachers with skills for effective
pastoral care.
Remuneration will be dependent upon the
qualifications and experience of the successful
applicant.

Requirements:
• A strong sense of calling and willingness to
fully commit to the mission, vision and values
of Rolleston College
• Relevant recent experience in a school
counselling leadership role
• Appropriate qualifications/degree in the field
of Counselling, Social Work or Psychology
• Member of NZ Association for Counsellors
(NZAC) or Member of NZ Association for
Christian Counsellors (NZACC) or equivalent
professional association
• A registered teacher with a current practising
certificate is desirable but not essential.
This role is a full-time, permanent position.

MILITARY EXERCISE
Night Firing and Explosive Firing
Over the period 1 - 7 November 2022
The general public is to be advised that a
New Zealand Army Exercise will be conducted
in the West Melton Rifle Range area over the
period 1 – 7 November 2022.

Training will involve soldiers conducting
basic weapon practices over the period of
1 – 7 November 2022. This will include
explosives practices between 1000 – 1630
on the 4 and 5 November. There will be
night firing no later than 9:30pm on the
3 and 6 November.
The New Zealand Army takes fire risk seriously
and will ensure fire mitigation is present.

Grenade Practice
4 November 2022
The general public is to be advised that
a New Zealand Army Exercise will be
conducted at West Melton Rifle Range on
the 4 November 2022.
The exercise will involve up to 30 personnel
of 2/4 Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment
from Burnham Military Camp.
Training will involve soldiers using High
Explosive Hand Grenades from 10:00 am until
4:30 pm.
The New Zealand Army takes fire risk
seriously and will ensure fire mitigation is
present.

Operative Selwyn District Plan
Clause 20 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act, 1991
PRIVATE PLAN CHANGE REQUEST 68 BECOMES OPERATIVE
Urban Holdings Limited, Suburban Estates Limited and Cairnbrae Developments Limited
lodged a private plan change request with Selwyn District Council pursuant to Clause 20 of
Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
The proponent sought to rezone Rural Inner Plains land in Prebbleton to Residential Land.
The Council’s decision to approve Private Plan Change 68 (PC68), was publicly notified on 31
August 2022. No appeals were received by the Environment Court.
Private Plan Change 68 will become operative on 3 November 2022. This notice is made in
accordance with Clause 20 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
The Operative Selwyn District Plan may be inspected online at www.selwyn.govt.nz/eplan or at
any of the Council’s service centres and libraries in Darfield, Leeston, Lincoln and Rolleston.
