Marvin Jubas (z”l)
Marvin Jubas was born and raised in Los Angeles
by parents who were devoted supporters of the
Jewish community and the State of Israel. They
instilled in him the importance of tzedakah and
tikun olam. Marvin received his B.S. degree from
UC Berkeley and his JD from UCLA.
After service in the U.S. Army, he co-founded the
law firm of Spensley, Horn & Jubas, and served as
its managing partner for nearly 40 years. Marvin
served as the managing partner of a mobile home
park business.
In addition to Marvin’s distinguished service as
a member of the regional and national boards
for American Friends of the Hebrew University,
his vast community involvement has included
leadership positions at the Jewish Federation,
United Jewish Fund, Cedars Sinai Medical
Center, LACMA, American Friends of the Israel
Philharmonic Orchestra, Jewish Home for the
Aging, The Guardians, Israel Bonds and the UCLA
Foundation. In 2010, Marvin became a Benefactor
of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
First married to the late Fern Jubas, Marvin is the
proud father of two children, Howard and Andrea,
and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by
his second wife, Jacqueline Davis Jubas, and is
survived by his beloved wife of nine years, Janet
Wald Jubas.
