Kris Drever is a Glasgow based, Orkney born 

musician. Drever’s voice and guitar form an

GUN (full band) :: At O2 Academy Islington, 

London. Glaswegian rockers GUN are back with 

their brand new album, ‘The Calton Songs’. The 

album that takes its name from the area of 

Glasgow where the band grew up, and where 

they still write their music. This record is about 

celebrating the road that GUN have taken to 

reach this point, these new versions of great 

songs are cut through with un-ironic nostalgia 

but this is a band with an eye on the horizon for 

what’s to come, not what’s over their shoulder in 

the past. To celebrate the release of ‘The Calton 

Songs’ the band will tour a run of fully-fledged 

electric shows throughout November and

Summerhall / NEHH presents ..... PUSSY 

RIOT: Riot Days :: At Summerhall, Edinburgh. 

Pussy Riot is a Russian feminist protest art 

collective based in Moscow. Founded in March 

2011, the group staged unauthorised 

provocative guerrilla punk rock performances in 

unusual public places, which were made into 

music videos and posted on the Internet. The 

collective's lyrical themes included feminism, 

LGBT rights, and opposition to Russian President 

Vladimir Putin, whom the group considered a 

dictator.

MEURSAULT plus support from WOJTEK 

THE BEAR :: At Summerhall, Edinburgh. Fresh 

from recording the latest (self titled) Meursault 

record on the Isle of Skye, Neil Scott Pennycook 

and cohorts descend upon Summerhall with an 

offering of songs old and new. As always, the 

cast that comprises the Meursault live band is 

ever changing, so expect some new faces and 

sounds, some special guests and the kind of 

intimate and impassioned performance which 

this act has built its name on.

Together: With RACHEL SERMANNI,

Summerhall, Edinburgh. NEHH and Summerhall 

are delighted to announce the second edition of 

“All Work Together”, a songwriters circle 

featuring three more of Scotland’s finest 

songwriters performing in a round robin style. 

Compered by Summerhall’s Music Programme 

Manager Jamie Sutherland, we will take a deep 

dive into each songwriters back catalogue and 

oeuvre, discussing songwriting quirks and tics, 

as well as inspirations and motivations behind

EWAN MACFARLANE + Band with special 

Guest to DANNY VAUGHN :: At Bannermans, 

Edinburgh. Whether felt by the sold-out crowds 

gathering to see Ewan Macfarlane and The Grim 

Northern Social perform at King Tut’s Wah Wah 

Hut over 3 consecutive nights for 2 years 

running (simply through word of mouth due to 

his loyal followers), festival-goers at T in the 

Park, or right there, within the commotion of 

that street in Austin, Ewan’s burgeoning 

reputation is of a musician whose experience

Ewan MacFarlane played his final show as 

frontman of his post GNS band Apollo 440 in

7.30pm. Stina Marie Claire is the new solo 

project of singer/songwriter Stina Tweeddale aka 

Honeyblood. She revealed the new project in 

August 2021, developed with the support of her 

fans throughout 2020 while she was unable to 

tour and record with her supporting live band. A 

significant departure from her usual rock-pop 

sound, Stina Marie Claire delivers heartwrenchingly 

poignant bedroom pop; returning to 

her DIY roots and looking inwards to present 

songs fuelled with vulnerable, tender lyrics which 

are fitting of current times.

consecutive nights for 2 years running (simply 

through word of mouth due to his loyal

right there, within the commotion of that street 

in Austin, Ewan’s burgeoning reputation is of a 

musician whose experience matches his many 

miles travelled. In 2018, Ewan MacFarlane 

played his final show as frontman of his post 

GNS band Apollo 440 in front of 30,000 fans in a 

sun-kissed Seville. Now Ewan is back with a new 

solo album ‘MILK’ which will prompt a greater 

discovery of one of Scotland’s greatest cult 

talents. 2022 has proved to be a benchmark

'Devil May Care' – the 

new studio album from 

Dave Arcari – is 

released on CD and all 

digital platforms/services 

on Friday 18 November. 

It follows October's release of a digital single from the album – Meet me 

in the City – and is Arcari's seventh full-length album…the first since his 

Live at Memorial Hall release in 2017. 

His version of Junior Kimbrough's hill country classic Meet me in the City 

and the traditional Nine Pound Hammer are the only covers on the 

album – the rest of the material is all self-penned and written over the 

last couple of years. 

Other than his fifth album Whisky in my Blood (Blue North Records, 

Finland – 2013) where Arcari was accompanied by the Hellsinki 

Hellraisers this is the first time he has featured guest performers on his 

recordings – something made possible with support from Help Musicians, 

an independent charity for professional musicians within the UK. 

Title track Devil May Care features drums from Chris McMullan of 

Northen Ireland's Bonnevilles, Stick to Your Guns has blues harp from 

his old Radiotones' bandmate Jim Harcus and his re-write of the Scottish 

classic Loch Lomond – Loch Lomond (Home) – has violin from Jamie 

Wilson. Loch Lomond (Home) also features the the 'voices of the loch' on 

choruses – a collection of local friends from east Loch Lomond where 

Arcari is based…and some visitors form further afield. 

"There's a few curve balls on this album…some stuff people might be 

surprised at!" says Arcari. "And it's been great to have support from 

Help Musicians without whom the collaborations and extra studio time 

couldn't have happened. 

"The support from Help Musicians goes way beyond financials," he 

adds. "It also includes mentoring and business advice sessions which are 

invaluable for musicians, helping them to thrive with the knowledge and 

skills they need to build a sustainable career." 

This isn't the first time Arcari has benefitted from the charity's support. 

Dave says: "I was fortunate enough to be part of a Help Musicians 

coaching programme a few years ago and also accessed support via 

Music Minds Matter when I was going through a particularly difficult 

period just before the pandemic hit." 

The album and UK tour dates are significant indication that Arcari's 

touring schedule and creative output is returning to 'normal' postpandemic.

has long been renowned for his skill at 

transcending musical boundaries: striving to 

keep his music fresh and exciting, never leaving 

the past behind but always embracing new sonic 

adventures. John was awarded the coveted BBC 

Radio 2 Musician of the Year in 2003 and also 

The Spirit of Scotland Award for music in 1999 

and again in 2009. 2016 saw John receive the 

Good Tradition Award and perform with his band 

at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards at The Royal
