John was awarded the coveted BBC Radio 2<br />
Musician of the Year in 2003 and also The Spirit<br />
of Scotland Award for music in 1999 and again in<br />
2009. 2016 saw John receive the Good Tradition<br />
Award and perform with his band at the BBC<br />
Radio 2 Folk Awards at The Royal Albert Hall. In<br />
2019 John received the Outstanding Music<br />

Hall, Perth. 7.30pm. By popular demand Andy<br />
Irvine and Paul Brady are touring the hugely<br />
successful live show that celebrates their<br />
legendary and landmark eponymous album and<br />
we’re delighted to have secured the only show<br />
outside their native Ireland. Originally released<br />
in 1977, following the breakup of Planxty where<br />
Irvine and Brady had forged a powerful musical<br />
chemistry, the album’s standouts include iconic<br />
tracks such as Brady’s epic Arthur McBride,<br />
Irvine’s reflective Autumn Gold, The Plains Of<br />
Kildare and Bonny Woodhall. The show features<br />
songs and tunes from the album and many other<br />
highlights from Andy and Paul’s illustrious solo<br />
careers as well as one or two Planxty classics.<br />
They will be accompanied by former Bothy Band<br />
members Dónal Lunny and Kevin Burke both of<br />
whom played on the album, with Dónal also<br />
