Harry & Meghan dropped — Catherine, the
Duchess of Wales hosted the second annual
Royal Carols: Together at Christmas service at
Westminster Abbey. The 40-year-old arrived at
the church with husband Prince William and
their elder kids, Prince George, 9, and 7-yearold
Princess Charlotte (who matched her mom
in festive burgundy!). At just 4 years old, little
brother Prince Louis stayed home.
After kissing and curtseying to her in-laws,
King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla,
the future queen paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth
II, who died in September, with a clip of one of
her annual Christmas addresses to her subjects.
Reminders of the late monarch were woven
throughout the service. William read from his
grandmother’s 2012 address in which she talked
about the importance of “the spirit of together-

in the days and hours leading
up to Stephen “tWitch” Boss’
shocking Dec. 12 suicide. “We
had no indication that anything was
out of the ordinary,” his grandfather
Eddy Boss told one news outfit,
sharing a text in which the 40-yearold
dancer wrote, “I love you Dad-
Dad,” just days before the Ellen
DeGeneres Show alum fatally shot
himself at a motel in Encino, Calif.
Devastated, the 84-year-old went
on, “Our question is why? Where did
it come from?”
Now a new report says the So You
Think You Can Dance alum left an
“ambiguous” note referring to past
challenges, which was found near his
lifeless body by law enforcement.
“Stephen, as his friends and family
are finding out, was a complicated man,” an
insider tells Star. “Things were going his way,
but he obviously wasn’t happy with the way his
life was going.”
From the outside, it looked to be going great.
Wed to fellow SYTYCD vet Allison Holker, 34,
since 2013, he was a doting dad to their two
kids as well as her daughter from a previous
relationship who he adopted after the marriage.
“He and Allison had a lot of projects lined up for
2023,” says the insider. “He was gearing up for
a judging job on SYTYCD and had some brand
deals. It seemed he and Allison were excited
about the future.” It’s a future they’ll never have.
Says the insider, “This is a mystery that’s going to
take a long, long time to unravel.”

It’s a great time for country music fans, with Keith
Urban, Luke Bryan and Garth Brooks all booked
for Las Vegas residencies. But sources tell Star Keith
and Luke are less than thrilled that the “Friends in
Low Places” singer has already sold out his run at
Caesars Palace and extended it through 2024. “Garth’s
stepping on toes,” says an insider. “They know Garth is
a fan favorite and people will want to go see
him — and that makes them a little jealous.” Not
that they’d ever trash-talk the Country Music Hall
of Famer. “These guys are all very respectful of each
other,” notes the insider. “But they are also fiercely
competitive when it comes to reviews, ticket sales,
concert and album reviews.” As for Garth, he kept it
humble talking about his sold-out shows. “That’s an
amazing feeling,” he mused. “All of a sudden it hits you
— they want to extend this!”

to solve a problem himself than ask an
underling for help, even for tasks like
grocery shopping or paying a bill online.”

Katherine Schwarzenegger, the
43-year-old dad of three doesn’t want
to stray too far from his blue-collar
roots (growing up, his mom worked
in a grocery store and his dad rehabbed
houses). After all, this is a guy who once
lived out of his van! “It’s not healthy for him
to have employees around him telling him
how great he is,” says the insider. “He’s more
grounded than ever.”

Things are changing in the DC universe. No sooner had Gal Gadot
posted about suiting up for Wonder Woman 3 than news broke
that the flick, helmed by Patty Jenkins, was being shelved. Then
Henry Cavill made the shock announcement that he was being
replaced as the Man of Steel. “This news isn’t the easiest,” wrote
the 39-year-old. “But that’s life.” The shake-up comes at the
hands of newly appointed honchos at DC Studios, Suicide Squad
director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran. Explaining
that the studio wanted to build a “cohesive story across film, TV,
animation and gaming,” Gunn acknowledged in a Dec. 8 tweet,
“We know we are not going to make every single person happy.”
Especially not the stars. Not only is Gal, 37, losing out on a $25
million payday, but Henry gave up a lucrative gig on The Witcher
to take the role. Says an insider, “Hollywood’s brutal!”

TOO close for comfort! Sasha and Malia Obama have been sharing an
apartment in L.A., and sources tell Star the sisters are begging parents Barack
and Michelle to let them get their own places. “They’ve tried to live with
each other, but they’re getting on each other’s nerves and fighting all the time,”
says an insider. Among their issues? Harvard grad Malia, 24, who’s working on
Donald Glover’s show Hive, wants more privacy to spend time with boyfriend
Dawit Eklund. Meanwhile USC student Sasha, 21, is craving space to hang out with
her boyfriend Clifton Powell Jr. and their friends. “She’s sick of Malia bossing her
around,” notes the insider. “Plus they take each other’s clothes without asking.”
(As any sib knows, that’s a serious crime!)
While mom and dad have broken up countless arguments between the two,
the former president and first lady aren’t giving in. “They find it a whole lot easier
knowing the girls are in the same place and are there to keep an eye on each other,”
explains the insider. “They know the girls are super tight and this is just sister stuff.”

60-year-old released a clip of himself casually
hanging outside a helicopter, yelling
into the camera to be heard above the
chopper’s blades. “As always, thank you
for allowing us to entertain you,” the actor,
currently filming Mission: Impossible —
Dead Reckoning in South Africa, shouted,
adding, “We’ll see you at the movies!”
The daredevil move was about as Hollywood
as you can get. But sources tell Star
the megastar isn’t a fan of the town that
made him famous. “Tom’s always felt like
an outsider in Hollywood,” says the source.
“He’s extremely dedicated to his craft
and has an old-fashioned work ethic and
doesn’t have time for the rest of the B.S.”
BAD MEMORIES
It’s not just the superficiality of the business
that turns the Top Gun star off. Los
Angeles also holds painful reminders of
Tom’s failed marriages, to Mimi Rogers
(1987–1990), Nicole Kidman (1990–

“L.A. was Tom’s home base during those

project, the eighth installment in the M:I
franchise has taken him to South Africa,
where he’s delighted locals by chatting
and posing for selfies after piloting his
own helicopter to and from the small town
of Hoedspruit. “The people of Hoedspruit
gather in anticipation,” Mel Owtram, the
owner of Antares Bush Camp and Safa-
ris, told a local newspaper in February.
After months of filming there, says the
insider, “Tom’s grown to love the country.
He loves the landscape, the culture,
the people who have been so welcoming
to him.” Currently he’s renting a place,
but the actor even hinted he might like
to put down roots there. “It’s beautiful
here,” he told fans. “It would be nice to
live here permanently.”
Either way, the Jerry Maguire vet is
just happy to steer clear of Tinseltown.
“He doesn’t like the Hollywood politics
and the attention-seeking celebrities,”
says the insider. “He’s separated himself
from the phonies and hangers-on and
