WhentovisitAlaska
Cruises to Alaska tend to run in the summer, between June and
September each year. This is when the weather in the region is at its most
mild, with warm days and short nights. Temperatures average in the mid-
20s during this time. These months are also when you’ll have the best
chance of spotting wildlife, such as bears and whales. Winter is best
avoided, as temperatures dip below freezing, the days are short, and
wildlife returns to hibernation. A number of festivals and events also take
place in Alaska during the summer.
As the weather can be unpredictable in Alaska during any season, so
make sure to bring plenty of warm layers with you. It’s also a good idea to
bring some rain gear and hiking boots for enjoying those long walks, like
the East Glacier Loop Trail. Want to do some wildlife spotting? Pack some
binoculars and your camera.
