ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
An Ash Wednesday Service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, at 6:30
pm, Downtown Campus sanctuary. We will enjoy a meal together at 5:30 in
the Lower Fellowship Hall for FC Gathering, and then make our way to the
sanctuary for the service.
#LOVEYOURNEIGHBOR AT BROAD STREET ELEMENTARY
Valentine bags for the Broad Street scholars are due back to your campus
of worship this week and next, February 4/5 and February 11/12. Bags should
include a sweet treat, a salty treat and a Valentine. No nuts, please.
BUTLER DISTRICT SCHOOL OF LAY SERVANT MINISTRIES
Advance registrations for the Butler District School of Lay Servant Ministries are
being accepted through February 15. There is a brochure at the welcome
center/hub with all of the information that you would need to participate.
PIZZA WITH THE PASTOR IS JUST A WEEK AWAY!

FINANCIAL GIVING STATEMENTS
2022 year-end statements were mailed out this week and also they were
sent to those of you who have provided us with email addresses. If you have
received your statement electronically please know you have a 2 week period
to retrieve the statement. At any time if you have any questions, need
a hard copy or have the email statement sent again, contact bmonfre@
butlerfumc.com or call the church office and ask for Brenda.
CPR/AED TRAINING
• SUNDAY, MARCH 5, 12:30 - 3 PM, light lunch served at noon
• THURSDAY, MARCH 9, 6 - 8:30 PM, snacks provided at 5:30, nursery and
childcare available on Thursday only
You only need to attend one of these trainings. Both trainings will be held at
the Rt. 8 Campus in Rooms 1&2 of the kids wing. Participants will receive a
two-year AHA Heart Saver card. First Church staff, children/youth volunteers,
interested guardians and students 5th grade and older are encouraged to
take advantage of this life saving training for no fee. All must pre-register by
February 26 for training and childcare at www.butlerfumc.com/cpr. Contact

THANK YOU FOR THE DESSERTS
We want to extend our gratitude to those who bake cookies and cakes for
community meal. It is certain that those who get to eat the goodies, really
appreciate them, as we do. If you would like to bake for community meal,
your donation of cakes or cookies would be so useful. It has been noted
that numbers for community meal have been going up across the city, and
needs may escalate in the near future.

THIS WEEKEND’S MESSAGE: PUZZLE PIECES
THIS WEEKEND’S SCRIPTURE: ACTS 6:1-7
Every local church is like a puzzle. When it is put together it looks like the kingdom
of God for the particular community where it’s located. But each puzzle
depends on the pieces in it, and the puzzle cannot be complete unless every
piece is present and connected to the others. Every person filled with the Spirit
has a role to play in the local community of faith where they are helping the
kingdom of God come alive. If each of us do not add our piece to the puzzle,
there will be holes in it, and others will be frayed and torn and the colors will be
faded from trying to fill more spaces than they were created and gifted to. The
puzzle will be lopsided or strong on the corners and empty in the middle.
